The Amazing Invisible Jacob

Locke won’t die.  I think I know who will, but see my Spoiler page to read it.

I think that Mikhail is the one and only Dharma survivor.  He said so when we first met him (well, Mrs. Klugh might have been the nurse we saw but that is up for debate).  He is still loyal.  He knows what Ben did to the real *Others.*  I think he followed Ben to Jacob.  I think even though Locke kicked his booty that he will save him (conveniently, he’s a medic).  I foresee these two working together.  No one wanted to help Mikhail when Locke was kicking the snot out of him.  The Others don’t like him and now Locke is also anti-Other.

Jacob is some sort of shape shifter.  I know, I know, it sounds supernatural/science fiction.  My sister first suggested that Jacob is the one taking the form of the dead loved ones and I thought it was kooky.  Then I started thinking about it.  It makes sense.  Think of all the dead people they have seen.  How?  How is Jacob doing it?  So much to ponder!  Why is he asking Locke for help?  Is that why Ben wants Locke dead - because he is the only person who can *see* Jacob?

I can’t believe that they didn’t go back to the camp when Jack said they had catching up to do.  Maybe he’ll help them fight the Others but don’t forget, my friends, that he and Juliet didn’t look a bit surprised about Naomi or the boat out on the water.

Volcano?  I’ve thought for awhile that there was something volcanic there.  Look at the patterns on the beach.  My Scott mentioned lava tubes and how they could be traveling through them and that is how they get around so quickly.  Locke found volcanic ash on the way to Jacob.

What happened to Annie?  Did Ben also sacrifice her?  I guess we can see why Ben was so adamant about Locke killing his own father.  And Mr. Richard.  My my.  Seems there is a bit more to him that we don’t know.  He’s creepy.

Why doesn’t Richard age?

So much to think about.  Must go back and watch it again.  Ahhhh, just like the good old days!

Thinking on it some more. Remember what book they were reading in the book club? CARRIE! Remember how she was moving things with her MIND in the end? Maybe Ben has that power and he’s using it to dupe Locke. When Locke heard “Help Me” and he turned around, when Ben started talking he sounded gruff like the voice. Could just be Ben playing mind games.

I expected to see the wooden doll in “Jacob’s” chair. Ben’s got some serious issues (Daddy issues, once again it appears) but I can’t decide whether he is totally loony tunes or not.

Why do these people follow him? Exactly what power or influence does he have over them? He has contact with the outside world (Juliette’s sister and the videos of her in the park) so is someone out there calling the shots? Good episode…… NO way Locke is dying.

I think Jacob is legit. I don’t think it’s Ben playing games. But what do I know other than I’m hooked on this freakin’ show!

As far as Locke being dead, I think it’s legite. Spoilers have stated that two main characters will die before the finale, and I’m thinking Locke was the first one….hmm…as far as Jacob, I think Ben is one evil dude. Spoilers on lostpedia have indicated that we’re going to start seeing just how evil and dark the Others really are. I think Ben is the man behind the curtain controlling the wizard or rather what “Jacob” does. “Jacob” is no more real than the wizard. I do think Locke is sensitive enought to the metaphysical world that he could sense the presence of whatever is manifesting in that scary house, but I think “Jacob” is simply Ben’s metaphysical powers that he himself may actually be able to see, but dude is seeing some evil stuff. Also, “Jacob” and the monster I think are synonomous and definitely take the form of dead people. Watch out guys…the Others and namely Ben are pretty evil and nutso!!

April Grace (Mrs Klugh) was not in this episode. I will put that question to rest for you. They killed Klugh off because April Grace is too busy to come to Hawaii to keep playing the character.

I was thinking that the nurse that took Ben & his dad’s vitals when they first got to the island was potentially a younger version of her. So no, it would have have been the same actress.

Did the article say what she was busy doing? Mikhail shot her anyway.

  7. Sarah d. Says:

After looking at lostpedia, I remembered that there was an image that flashed on the chair that was apparently Jacob, so now I think I’m believing that Jacob can manifest himself…I’m thinking he can take the form of dead people and the form of the black smoke.

Did any one else notice that Richard’s outfits in the flashback scenes was appropriate attire for a mid 1800’s sailing ship? And why was Richard (and Ben’s mother for that matter) barefoot in the flashbacks?

  9. catalinacrawler Says:

eric, i think you’re right on…i re-watched last night and thats the first thing that came to me when watching the scene where ben meets richard…that richard looked like a pirate with the long hair and all that dark eye makeup. i’m thinking he came to the island on the black rock which could have been a pirate ship instead of a slave transporter and somehow he’s still around.

also, there are other stations all over the island how could every single person have been in town to get gassed all at the same time?? you’d think there were other darhma people that survived at other stations…..that is unless what they used was so potent it covered the whole island. hhmm.

i also think annie died as a child but not at the hands of the hostiles or ben never would have hooked up with them. he never would have gassed her too.

Could it be possible that if all dharma people were not at the barracks the day that they all got gassed and some were in like the Pearl Station, they could have trapped themselves in there out of protection and that could be why Kelvin had the protective suit and gas mask…incase he thought there were still fumes outside…

  11. Sarah d. Says:

OK, just checked buddytv and they’re revealing that among the spoilers for the season finale will include a showdown between Jack and Locke, so it looks like Locke isn’t dead. Rumors have it that either Jack, Kate, Sawyer or Locke will die in the finale.

  12. Gitsie Girl Says:

I would vote Jack. The rumor has been around for awhile.

Kelvin took off his mask once he got outside, remember when Desmond followed him? There still might be *something* to that.

  13. Anna Says:

I think that Richard is Jacob, and he uses that guise to spy on the camp and influence events. Why else would Richard be taking orders from Ben, even though he is older than Ben and undoubtedly manipulated Ben into helping them. He also seems to be helping Locke take over by giving Locke the information about Sawyer, and he also refused to obey Ben when Locke was beating Mikhail. Even if he is not Jacob, I think Richard is going to be one of the most surprising and interesting characters on the island.

  14. Foffman Says:

I agree with Anna. Richard could be Jacob, but even if he isn’t, he’s going to play a much bigger role than anyone initially thought. Also, I saw Jacob in the chair for a split second. It’s right after when Ben grabs him by the shoulders and I think he says “you’ve had your fun” or soemthing, then you can see someone in the chair for a split second.

  15. Jenn G Says:

Locke may survive, check out this interview…

Remember what Locke gave up in his past?.. his kidney … this just might save him.

  16. Rach K Says:

Going back to the Richard is Jacob theory, do you think that maybe Jacob is Richards Dad? When Ben walks through for the first time and he encounters ‘Richard’ he is the same age as he is now. Also, if Jacob is a spirit of some kind, maybe the dead relatives etc that people are seeing are really spirits and their souls accumulate into the black mass? I know thats a bit sci-fi, just wondering what people thought!

  17. alzadro Says:

I’m not sure - it was too short, but i think Jacob look like a black man… Maybe he’s one of the slaves from Black Rock, who has some kind of voodoo powers…

  18. tonyp Says:

Jack Will turn on them during the season finale. MARK MY WORDS…….

  19. Gitsie Girl Says:

I’m with you on this one. Jack could be working with *other* Others (the original Dharma perhaps?).

  20. JP Says:

    Annie is clearly Russo..

  21. Connor Says:

    Shame she’s not french…:s
