Toys for my wish list!

Monday, June 19th, 2006

These action figures are a must for my collection (Scott, are you listening?).  Remember that movie with Arnold where he was literally battling other parents to get his son that toy?  I wonder if it will be like that to get these?  I can’t imagine going head-to-head with some of the WalMart shoppers I’ve seen.  I think I could lose an eye or perhaps a vital organ.

Here is a link to a pretty good story with details about the action figures.  I can’t say that I am excited that they will talk.  I guess they have limited articulation, too, but I won’t know that because I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to convince myself to take them out of the boxes (“if” I can get them, that is).

Lost calendar to be released July 1. Not sure I want to wait until Christmas to get this, though (hint, hint to Scott)!

What if he “IS” Him?

Interesting interview with Michael Emerson (a.k.a. Fenry). Clipped one line in particular, but check out this link for the entire interview. Guess he will be a regular cast member next season, amongst “other” things, I wonder?

When Lost producers offered Emerson the part of Gale, he says he believed he would only serve a short stint on the series. During the filming of the scene in which Gale spoke to Sayid about the leader of the “Others,” Emerson began to suspect his part would take on increased significance. The director told Emerson he wanted to re-shoot the scene, except this time with Emerson appearing more fearful at the mention of the leader. Emerson recalls, “I said, ‘That sounds great. Except, what if I’m him?’ The director looked at me with a blank look and said, ‘I can’t talk about that.’” Source: The Trades

Better late than … reruns!

Friday, June 9th, 2006

Season Three of Lost is set to start of October 4, 2006. It sucks that the season seems to be starting so late, but considering the fact that there will be absolutely no reruns to interrupt the momentum of the show, I’ll take it!

I still continue to read conflicting stories of the exact number of episodes that each 1/2 of Lost will be broken in to, but for all intents and purposes, they will run a shorter number in the Fall/Winter and then a longer stretch from Spring to the season end. This also allows for double story arcs, which I for one am very excited about.

The latest report that I saw has Lost running 7 episodes then picking back up in January or February with 18 episodes.

Where would a hobo end up if he hopped this train?

My daughter and I were on our way to Chicago last weekend and we couldn’t believe our eyes!

If we can’t watch it, then we can at least imagine…

Summary of spoilers given by Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse: Next season, we will understand the real ramifications of Desmond activating the failsafe and what that did. The central issue of season three will be what did happen. It sounds like Desmond’s coming back.

They said they want him back, we want to know why he was in prison, we want to know what happened when he turned that key that affected the entire island. That will become very important. The island was visible but only for an instant. It was also visible for an instant on 9/22/04 when the plane crashed. The foot statue represents the history and archeology of the island. Season three will explore what happened on the island before Dharma arrived in the late 70’s and who was there. The smoke monster will definitely be back in Season three. There is a good chance we saw the monster this year and didn’t realize we were looking at it. By the end of next year we will realize what it was and when we saw it. Why did the Others take Jack, Kate and Sawyer? Where is their home? That will be the story told over the first six episodes. Season 3 will also be about the main characters and their relationships. They want to service the relationships next year more than the mythology. How Locke got in the wheelchair, how Jack got his tattoos will be revealed in Season three. Source: Lost Podcast

Rejected Promo Video

Thanks to Dave’s Beach Bar for this link. This is a video promo that was made before Lost aired but was ultimately rejected. I know this has been out on the net for awhile, but it’s still worth another look….
