Jesus, stick

Monday, July 17th, 2006

I was browsing through my screencaps and found this close up of the Jesus stick.  No real relavance right now, just found it interesting.  I am sure we will find out more about this in Season 3.  Eko *has* to be alive as his story is so interesting and there seems to be so much more to tell.  Click on the image to make it large and then you can read the words on the stick.

Keep it simple, stupid

Sawyer has it right.
lost_sawyer_on_beach.jpg

For those of you living under a rock and have never heard of the KISS principle, well, it’s pretty “simple.” What does this have to do with Lost, you ask? I was snooping around the net today and came across this blog that has listed all the real and fake links that are in regard to the Lost Experience (TLE).

Link here to the list.

I am a lost fan (duh) and I enjoy the art of trying to figure out what is going on. But this TLE is just too much. The community of discussion seemed so pure up until now but ABC is killing it’s organic fan base with this barrage of information they are throwing at us this summer. I guess if you are a hermit living in front of your computer and your pale pasty fingers haven’t seen the sunshine in months then sure, this Experience is keeping you going. However, for the rest of us we are begging you ABC people, get back to the basics.

Ah, but you say that this show is anything *but* simple. It’s like this: say you are a painter and you are about to complete the best piece of your life. You’ve spent weeks carefully crafting this art. You decide to just add one more thing to the side. Then, that piece throws of the balance so you add a bit more. Before you know it you are elbow deep in a mess of paint and the work is all but ruined. Same for this show. The ABC money machine needs to back off and let the story unfold as it has been for the past two seasons.

Trouble again

Tsk. Tsk.  Why couldn’t it have been a crazed white tiger?

Lost star blasted by animal rights group

Lost star Michelle Rodriguez has been criticised by animal rights activists for taking a baby tiger cub to a nightclub.

The actress played with Skanda, a nine-week-old white tiger, for a charity event she was hosting in aid of a nature sanctuary.

PETA have now slammed the star for using the endangered animal for entertainment purposes.

A spokesman for the animal rights organisation, Dan Mathews, said: “These are wild animals, not party animals.

“We know Michelle Rodriguez is an animal lover, but I think she is unaware how infant animals need to be around their mother and not a clanging party scene.

“They’re not meant to be an ornament at a party, even one that is designed to raise money for animals. It kind of defeats the purpose.”

Rodriguez fed the baby tiger a bottle full of milk and went swimming with it in a pool.

The tiger was said to have looked distressed as it scrambled around the venue.

Club owner Satsky, who paid $US10,000 to hire the tiger, said: “The music was bothering him a little bit. But his trainer was constantly feeding him milk, so that kind of calms him down.”

Lost gets the snub

You could chalk this up to Hollywood politics, but I don’t get why Lost well, lost out in so many important categories.  You will say “wha…” when you read this too.

Lost gets Snowed - 2006 Emmy Nominations

Source: About.com

So the Emmy nominations are out, and hello?, does anyone from the TV Academy remember that little show called Lost that won six Emmys last year? This years nominations:

* Outstanding Drama Series - They forgot to add the best show EVER! I mean, come on, people, Lost won last year and this year not even a nomination?
* Outstanding Lead Actor In a Drama - They skipped right over the Lost actors
* Outstanding Lead Actress - Does anyone else hear the crickets?
* Supporting Actor/Actress - More crickets
* Guest Actress - Nothing

Here’s some nominations they got right:

* Outstanding Guest Actor - All right, Brotha, now we’re getting somewhere. Henry Ian Cusick was nominated for his role as Desmond
* Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series - They are darn lucky that they nominated Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelof or they would have heard from me! The two were nominated for writing The 23rd Psalm.
* Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series - Jack Bender for Live Together, Die Alone

Other nominations for Lost include:

* Outstanding Casting For A Drama Series
* Outstanding Cinematography For A Single-Camera Series
* Outstanding Single-Camera Picture Editing For A Drama Series (2)
* Outstanding Single-Camera Sound Mixing For A Series
* Outstanding Special Visual Effects For A Series - Well I would hope so! Sheesh!

Here’s what Lost fan John Fischer says, and I have to agree:

Are you kidding me? From its huge haul last year to a shutout this year. How can the TV Academy not nominate the show that won Best Drama last year? ABC really got screwed. Desperate Housewives was also ignored. The new voting system was supposed to help shows on the smaller networks, but still no Lauren Graham, no Battlestar Galactica… This is disgraceful.

I hope they “lose” this idea!

Lost to Be Turned Into a Movie?

Source: CelebritySpider.com

The makers of Lost want to end the hit TV show after a maximum of five years and are planning a feature-length movie spin-off.

Co-creator Damon Lindelof is so worried producers and studio executives will drag the show out he is making his opinion on the matter clear now.

He says, “We’d love to end the show after four year, five years tops and do a movie.”

The Lost Experience

Wednesday, July 5th, 2006

It’s out there but I think that my brain hasn’t been able to wrap around it. ABC has found a way to keep us guessing and filling in clues all summer and it’s called the Lost Experience. Read about it by clicking here.

I can’t say that I will be following this whole set up. I have a few other things going on this summer like hanging out with my family, spending time outside since it is summer, and other experiences that I don’t attribute to Lost. Yes, I will keep up with this site but if you want to delve into the Experience have a blast and please let me know what you find.

Here is a link to a site that is following the Experience.

Retrievers Of Truth

Tuesday, July 4th, 2006

OK, so I have been obsessed with this dog. How did Vincent survive the crash with not a scratch? How does he seem to show up when there is trouble? Where does he go all the time? Check out this website, of course it’s sponsored by the Hanso Foundation. I think it gives us some major clues to the role of Vincent on the island. He might just be good afterall.
Retrievers of Truth

Notables:
1. Friend. Companion. Soul mate. The yellow lab can read your mind. Hear you thoughts. Sense your pain. They can communicate without making a sound. Are you receptive?

2. Canine clairvoyance facts:How do they know you so well? Why do they show unconditional, unquestioning love? The answer; they speak to your very soul!

3. The founder: Dr. Vincent “Wally” Bolé -His life was a hellish nightmare of neglectful parents, and a near fatal accident until a kindly yellow lab pranced into his life and change him… forever.

4. President Clinton had a dog named Buddy that was *supposedly* killed and replaced by a dog named Seamus. The site states, “His name is Seamus or SAME US - “one of us.”
