You could chalk this up to Hollywood politics, but I don’t get why Lost well, lost out in so many important categories. You will say “wha…” when you read this too.
Lost gets Snowed - 2006 Emmy Nominations
Source: About.com
So the Emmy nominations are out, and hello?, does anyone from the TV Academy remember that little show called Lost that won six Emmys last year? This years nominations:
* Outstanding Drama Series - They forgot to add the best show EVER! I mean, come on, people, Lost won last year and this year not even a nomination?
* Outstanding Lead Actor In a Drama - They skipped right over the Lost actors
* Outstanding Lead Actress - Does anyone else hear the crickets?
* Supporting Actor/Actress - More crickets
* Guest Actress - Nothing
Here’s some nominations they got right:
* Outstanding Guest Actor - All right, Brotha, now we’re getting somewhere. Henry Ian Cusick was nominated for his role as Desmond
* Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series - They are darn lucky that they nominated Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelof or they would have heard from me! The two were nominated for writing The 23rd Psalm.
* Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series - Jack Bender for Live Together, Die Alone
Other nominations for Lost include:
* Outstanding Casting For A Drama Series
* Outstanding Cinematography For A Single-Camera Series
* Outstanding Single-Camera Picture Editing For A Drama Series (2)
* Outstanding Single-Camera Sound Mixing For A Series
* Outstanding Special Visual Effects For A Series - Well I would hope so! Sheesh!
Here’s what Lost fan John Fischer says, and I have to agree:
Are you kidding me? From its huge haul last year to a shutout this year. How can the TV Academy not nominate the show that won Best Drama last year? ABC really got screwed. Desperate Housewives was also ignored. The new voting system was supposed to help shows on the smaller networks, but still no Lauren Graham, no Battlestar Galactica… This is disgraceful.
