3 X 18: D.O.C.

Sunday, April 29th, 2007

I cannot believe that Juliet knows for sure the “Date of Conception.” She asked Sun the last time she was with her husband, but shouldn’t she have been asking the last time she had her period? Isn’t that what doctor’s normally ask? Or are you always ovulating on this island (whew, imagine the PMS!). Couldn’t Juliet also be lying to Sun because she wants to manipulate her into letting her be Sun’s caretaker? Maybe Sun did get pregnant off the island, how would she really know? She is depending on Juliet for a truth and that, my friends, is scary.

1. Here’s a possibility for Jack. Ben/The Others have somehow forged another bargain with him. He gets all the info that he can (whatever it is that they want) and they let him go. Jack thinks that if he gets off the island he can save them all. The whole scene with Jack coming up to Sun about her pregnancy was just too suspicious. But, his dialog and actions are so ambiguous right now it’s driving me crazy! It’s like the old days when something seemed so obvious on this show but you still just weren’t sure you had it quite figured out. Could our suspicions of Jack be throwing us off the scent of someone else?

2. I was just wondering why in Korea you would have the name of your company written in the English alphabet. Everything else is in Korean. I guess I also didn’t realize Sun’s father was in the automotive business either.
jinjacket.jpg Click to enlarge

3. I’m wondering if Sun’s father found Jin’s mother and offered her the $100,000 to scam Sun. Bear with me here. Mr. Paik wants Jin to work for him so he can “own” him. He knows that he can’t just ask him, Sun would never let him take the job (she knows what he really does, remember?). So he digs up some dirt on Jin (who, by the way, he doesn’t like anyway). Mr. Paik hires his mother to pull of this scam knowing that Sun will do anything to protect her new husband but she has no money of her own so she will have to come to him. Now Sun cannot possibly tell Jin ‘no’ that he can’t work for her father. So Jin and Sun are basically scammed into Jin taking this job.

4. Jin’s been in the army. That explains the Jackie Chan moves later and it leaves the possibility for lots of crossovers (Sayid, possibly Jack and Sawyer, Desmond, Kate’s dad).
jinarmy.jpg Click to enlarge

5. OK, so is Kate working with the Others? It all seems very set up how Kate is evasive about Jack possibly working with the Others then reveals to Sun about Juliet being a fertility researcher. Then when Sun confronts Juliet right at the moment she tells her pregnant women die, Kate pulls Sun away. Seems a bit fishy here. Screw that Kate! I would stand there and want more answers. Someone told me I was going to die I wouldn’t just walk away and get answers later.

6. Mikhail wanted to be caught by Desmond and co. He probably had something to do with the helicopter crash, he sees the flare and knows someone lived. There is no way that he doesn’t have some sort of backup for the communication station. Especially since his “house” was rigged with all those explosives, he surely had a back up plan and parts of it could have survived (remember how the original hatch had blast doors and then we see the huge door that Juliet opens in the medical hatch?). So he comes running only to find these guys got to her first. He knows the only way to talk to her is to somehow get in with these guys. He can’t just say “Dudes, I’m a medic. Let me help!” But he has to know she is hurt and runs his own scam to get near her.
mikhaelnaomi.jpg hatchdoor.jpg Click to enlarge

7. It was translated at another site that outside of saying that she’s dying, she also says that she is not alone. She says this to Mikhail. A threat or information?

8. Check out the trophy that Jin’s dad has. It’s sitting behind Sun. I think it’s safe to assume that this was Jin’s. It explains the karate moves (or whatever fighting style it was).
jinstrophy.jpg Click to enlarge

9. Here’s more reason to think that Mr. Paik set up this scam. In his safe, there is only enough cash to cover the bribe. He doesn’t count it, he just takes it out and puts in in the envelope. It’s not like there is a bunch of cash in there. When he takes out the $100,000, that’s it besides what looks like a book.
mrpaikmoney.jpg Click to enlarge

10. Mikhail taunts Charlie when he says, “Sorry, what?” knowing that Charlie lost part of his hearing in the blast (remember Charlie telling Claire when he came back to camp that he was having trouble hearing out of his left ear?). I have a feeling these two will meet again but I’m not so sure Charlie could take this guy on.
mikhailear.jpg Click to enlarge

11. So people heal on the island more quickly than other places. It’s reasonable then that Mikhail wasn’t dead. But why did Boone die? Would the Marshall have lived? And it must be that whatever healing force is on this island sees that a pregnancy is like a cancer/foreign invader and that is why the baby dies but it doesn’t explain why the mother also dies. Wouldn’t she just miscarry? Plus, why solve the mystery at all? Why not live on the island, conceive off the island and go about your business? Is this leading us to what the big mystery is that Sayid would kill Juliet if they knew the truth of what the Others were doing?

12. If Sun did get pregnant on the island, check this out that I found:
And get this … according to the Lostpedia Timeline http://lostpedia.com/wiki/Timeline:October_2004, the day of conception was Day 35, Tuesday, October 26, 2004.

The problem is that two days earlier, Sun speaks English in front of Jin, embarassing him (and surprising everyone else) which causes him to move to the beach. It appears they are not on speaking terms until the raft is launched on Day 44, Thursday, November 4, 2004. (Exodus Part I)

So it appears that they did not speak to each other for 9 days … 9 long lonely days.

13. Hopefully Sun followed Juliet back into the hatch when she said she was going to “cover their tracks.” Sun has been very questioning up until now and I would think that she would find this suspicious.

14. What kind of samples are they trying to get from the women? What kind of sample did they just get from Sun? It wasn’t invasive. It was an ultrasound.

15. It was brought up that back on the Oceanic Airlines website (remember this from season one) that when you moved the cursor over flight 815 the number changed to 777. I also remember talk that the passengers were routed to a different gate and got on a different plane, not 815. So, to play back on those theories, maybe each and every one of these survivors were meant to be on this island but they never were really on the right flight. That would explain why they could find flight 815 and no one would have survived. Crash the plane, burn it up, and everyone thinks the passengers are dead.

Quick Thoughts

Wednesday, April 25th, 2007

Kate is preggo. No surprise there.

Saywer has super sperm!

Jin is the island’s Jackie Chan!  Rethinking who I’d side with now.

Desmond just did them all a big favor letting Mikyal go.  Yeah, yeah, I know he’s a bad a*s.  But I think Mikyal is a man of honor and I think that Desmond just scored a huge favor to come.  Charlie, well, not so much.
Ending shocker - but who is shocked that Dharma staged a fake plane?

3 x 17 Catch 22

Friday, April 20th, 2007

Resulting from its specific use in the book, the phrase “Catch-22″ is common idiomatic usage meaning “a no-win situation” or “a double bind” of any type.

1. Why does Desmond keep seeing visions of Charlie’s death? I mean, you could have visions of Locke catching boars, Sawyer reading, Jack making deals with the Others, but Desmond keeps seeing Charlie die. I would hate that. Visions of the future and all it is is the same person dying crazy deaths. And is Desmond somehow altering the future by saving Charlie? Or, could Desmond be having some crazy deja vu (they say that Catch *22* is like deja vu with the repeating number)? Maybe Desmond is seeing these visions because he is supposed to save Charlie. Maybe Charlie is going to save them all (probably through a series of misadventures with Hurley.

2. So far, the three psychics that we have seen have either been fakes or debunked. Claire’s psychic changed his mind about the baby (bought out by Dharma?). Hurley’s *seer* was bought off by his dad to make something up. Then Desmond’s psychic may have had some ability, but was using it to get Desmond to the island. So why would we believe that Desmond has any true ability given what we have seen the writers must think of psychics?

3. NOT that I want to discuss the love triangle, quadrangle, whatever… but I almost felt sorry for Sawyer. I think they’ve given this guy feelings for Kate! And truth be told I would rather see Kate be with Sawyer at this point. I think this guy knows his place on the island and is not afraid to stand up for it either. But when it comes down to it, he will leave the island in a second, would Kate?

4. Desmond believes that the only way the person who is coming can make it there is if the sequence of events as he sees them in flashes happens exactly. But… when we see the parachute being lifted to catch the person in the tree, Charlie is one of the people holding it. This is after the arrow *incident.* It doesn’t make sense because Charlie would have been dead by the time they found the parachute. Maybe Desmond doesn’t have as much control over these visions. Or, again, maybe he is supposed to save Charlie.
charlieparachute.jpg Click to enlarge

5. Why did Jin have to come on the trip?

6. Did the others back on the beach hear the helicopter and see the beacon flashing, too?

7. Here’s a question. How could a helicopter make it to the island if it was very far away from land? Does anyone know how far a helicopter can go with a tank of gas? I wouldn’t think very far. I would guess that if the island was far, far away they would have had to have taken something bigger for the trip.

8. Here is another question, why did the helicopter crash? We are supposed to believe that the plane crashed because Desmond let the numbers go a wee bit too long, but there is no number pushing now. Maybe they have something in place in the sky much like the sonic fence around their village.

9. On a production note … Desmond is clean shaven with short hair in his flashbacks but is scraggly with a beard and long hair on the island. This means that either the writers knew way ahead of time his backstory and filmed all his scenes or this guy is wearing a wig.
desmondnow.jpg desmondthen.jpg Click either image to enlarge

10. When did Charlie visit the Pearl to get a notebook? All the books that had been shot out I would have assumed were full. This one, if he was writing music in it, had to have been somewhat empty. A peace offering from Locke?
charliepearlnotebook.jpg Click to enlarge

11. By the way, I went back and watched “Dave” when Sayid reads the note on the $20 bill from the real Henry Gale. The note was written to “Jennifer” not Naomi (the new girl). I was suspicious at first that these two were related (him in a balloon) but it doesn’t appear to be so.

12. Moriah Vineyard 1995. From Wikipedia (regarding the name Moriah): …Classsical Rabbinical Literature theorized that the name was a …reference to the Temple, suggesting translations like the teaching-place…. the place of fear … Targum Pseudo-Jonathan interprets the name as land of worship, while the Samaritan Targum regards it as being land of vision.
moriahvineyards.jpg Click to enlarge

13. Desmond also says that Moriah was the mountain where Abraham was asked to kill Isaac. But God spared Isaac and this was Abraham’s test. Sound like anyone we know (Desmond saving Charlie?). Does he underestimate the value of sacrifice? He saves Charlie knowing it could alter the outcome of Penny’s arrival on the island? I knew that Desmond would not and will not let Charlie die if he can help it.

14. I still can’t make out what this is, but it is a very large tattoo or marking. Is there a Dharma symbol at the forearm area? Has Jack been branded as One of Them?
jacksarm3.jpg Click to enlarge jacksarm4.jpg

15. Predictable. Kate will end up pregnant. Then she’ll need Juliet to help save her life. It happens at conception, remember?

16. The end of the show, as told by Desmond, “With enough money and determination you can find anyone.” Of course there will have to be twists. Maybe Locke’s obsessive button pushing will have something to do with it. “Push the button, don’t push the button. The button’s bad.” Maybe we haven’t seen the “bad” button yet.

17. I could be crazy here, but if you look at the top of the screen in this shot I swear it looks like a black cloud. I just noticed it when I was looking at screencaps. I don’t have the highest quality but there appears to be something there. It could explain why the helicopter crashes.
clouds.jpg Click to enlarge

18. Lots of religious symbolism in this one. Per Widipedia, the book of Ruth is about redemption. Fitting.
ruth.jpg Click to enlarge

19. OK, this line was just too good not to mention (though Sawyer had some good ones again. So did Hurley).
“So where’d you get the table?” “What, you don’t recognize it? It fell out of the purple haze when the hatch went blamo. If we don’t play every 108 minutes the island will explode.” I think Sawyer was just looking for someone he could beat. Jack beat him at cards and Hurley beat him at ping pong. The man’s got pride! Until he hears about Kate, of course.

20. Love the doll. Couldn’t be Danielle’s, as Charlie pointed out, or there would be a massive rock flying at his head right now. Oh, just wait Charlie! I think this solidifies that Penny was not the original pilot of the helicopter. Somehow I don’t think that kitschy is her style.
doll.jpg Click to enlarge

21. Portuguese writing. The guys in the Antarctic hut working for Penny were Portuguese. I think this along with the picture pretty much solidify that Naomi was sent by Penny. Oh yeah, and she knows Desmond right off.
bookarbil22.jpg Click to enlarge

22. Dude, give the phone to Sayid and quit messing around! Geesh, when will they get some sense!
phone.jpg Click to enlarge

23. Just to back up for a minute. Can you imagine if you were really stranded here, the horrors you have been through and to hear that helicopter? The joy that would overtake you would be unreal.

24. I guess Bernard made an indirect appearance. The so-called mix tape apparently belongs to Bernard. Yeah, maybe they will finally be back!

25. Did you hear that the monastary only bottled 108 cases of wine this year? They haven’t been throwing the numbers in as much lately.

26. Oh boy. I didn’t want to believe it but I think that the monk fired Desmond because of Dharma or whoever also put the psychic lady up to talking him out of marrying Penny. Why else would her picture be on the monk’s desk? There is a pretty clear shot of this picture, too, so we were meant to see it. Ironically Penny is there the day that Desmond is fired, too.

Sawyer’s Lines

What would this show be without Sawyer?

3 X 16 One of Us

Sunday, April 15th, 2007

Juliet is a great character. I love to hate her. We still don’t know why she want all “Kill Bill” last week on Kate, but we know why she is so emotionally torn on this island. Love of sister versus love of her work. Oh yeah, then there’s the part where The Others won’t let you go home. :)

I thought I was going to hate the character, which don’t get me wrong, I do. But the flashbacks have been some of the best this season (except for Desmond, of course) and at least she’s not the soft spoken lesbian like she played on *how* many other shows?

1. Jack is SO not who we think. The season finale is going to prove me right. Check out this article about the season finale. Who do you think the *snake* in the mailbox is? Hm, the episode revolves around Jack… think, think, think. And, the title of this week’s episode also is a dead giveaway. Jack’s tattoo says that “He walks amongst us but is not ONE OF US.” I think that we were supposed to *think* that it meant Juliet but it was just a red herring to throw us off the scent of Jack. But GG knows!

2. I think that Jack could be Jacob. Didn’t he heal Sarah when it was impossible? Jacob has these supposed powers to heal (Rachel from cancer). But Ben has cancer now. Jack also didn’t save the foreign guy from his injury either. My thoughts are still forming but I’m leaning towards this theory. Man of Science, Man of Faith. Jack is first and foremost a man of science. He is top in his field. There is something to this. Maybe Jack’s dad is Jacob. When he died the Others knew that Jack was as close to him as they could come. They could have known that Jacob/Christian was on that plane and so was Jack. Maybe Ben is the only one who really knows who Jacob physically is… the others only know *of* him. Maybe Ben has shared that information with Jack and that is why Jack is acting so strange now with Juliet. Have to keep thinking on this one.

3. Here is something that is not adding up. The Others go through the trouble to make a list of survivors. Then there is the list of the *good* people. Then there is the list of the people they want and they end up taking Kate, Sawyer and Jack … only to let them all just go when the Others decide to take off. They send Danny and co. after Kate and Sawyer when they escaped and were going to kill them rather than let them leave and now all of a sudden they just walk away? No my friends of course not.

4. Goodwin and Ethan are sent to infiltrate the survivors and can’t do it. So Ben thinks he can but it turns out that he can’t do it. Now we have Juliet here. But again, like with Ben, Sayid knows. Hopefully, although these survivors can be pretty dumb, they will listen to him this time.

5. On a side note, how did Danielle get out of the compound?

6. Red flowers again.
redflowers.jpg Click to enlarge

7. I originally thought that Juliet told Sayid if she told him everything that she knew that *they* would kill her but I just watched it back and she said *YOU* would kill me. There must be more going on here (DUH) that we are yet to see because fertility experiments alone isn’t a reason to kill her.

8. What happened to the case of injections that Charlie had? Why didn’t he think to get them when Claire got so sick? Why, when Juliet brought her injections back, didn’t that spark Charlie to think, Oh yeah, I have some of that? Another unanswered mystery. I like the bigger mysteries in this show, but why do we have to have so many of these small unanswered questions? Why would they even show us that Charlie has these if they weren’t going to come back into play? And wasn’t Desmond taking injections in the hatch? Placebo? If so, does he know now that it was? If so, why did he take a case of the medicine with him when he left the hatch? It’s like the whispers in the woods. Who were they? Why? Where was it coming from? Why did it stop? What was the purpose?

9. Why did Juliet need tranqulizer for the trip to the island? I don’t think it had anything to do with the trip being *intense* as much as I think that the island is much closer than they want anyone to know. If the island was too far away wouldn’t she have woken up thirsty (ever slept too long and you know that feeling) or had to go pee if the trip was that long? The sub was already at the island when she woke up. I don’t think she was out that long and I think that the trip was relatively short. If the plane ride was long wouldn’t they have had to have been on a bigger plane (check out the puddle jumpers in the background)? I’m not an aviation expert so I could be wrong, but it seems that they would have needed a bigger plane to take a long trip to wherever the sub was hidden. Then, the landing strip for the plane would have to be somewhere small and inconspicuous. It just doesn’t add up that this was such a long trip.
planesinbackground.jpg Click to enlarge

10. Herarat Aviation? Her A Rat Aviation? Earhart (as in Amelia)?

11. Richard tells Juliet that “time just flies” when you are on the island. I used to be a member of the *time loop theory* of the island but I don’t think that they are in a time rip. However, I do think that there is a possibility that because of magnetism on the island there could be some way that time moves slower/faster than other places.

12. NOT that I want to discuss the horriffic love triangle, or whatever, that is being honed here, but I was glad that Sawyer gave Kate a hug and genuinely looked relieved to see Kate. I also loved the look on his face when he saw Juliet. I will be curious in weeks to come how Sawyer, who gives the people he *likes* a hard time, will handle someone he doesn’t like. He is also the con man and I’ll be interested to see how that plays out too.
sawyerseesjuliet.jpg Click to enlarge

13. It really must tick off Juliet when Hurley is talking to her and tells her that Charlie got upset over Ethan and then tells her where they buried him. You can see the look on her face. Here is a theory that Scott brought up, it was JULIET not Ben that wanted Ana Lucia killed. Goodwin was Juliet’s partner and AL killed him in cold blood. Juliet would have had to have been furious! Then Ethan who seemed to also be kind to her. I would bet that when Michael comes back we’ll see a flashback that has her arranging for Michael to kill Ana Lucia.

14. First people wearing watches and now with the clocks. Remember in season one when Jin was all bent out of shape about his watch and we were told that watches didn’t work there anyway. So what is up with these?
clockinsurgery.jpg Click to enlarge

15. Juliet tells Ben that the problem with the pregnant women is that it happens at conception. That would explain how Claire and Danielle could have children on the island. What it doesn’t explain is how Ben and Karl are both children of the island. Ben says he has lived there his whole life. How if no one can stay pregnant? And where did Karl come from? He is around the same age as Alex but we don’t know anything about his parents… which means that they both must have been conceived off of the island but where did they come from?

16. Here is another mystery for you folks. If Ben gives Juliet her *sisters* chart to show her the cancer is back, then why does it say its for a *male* and *187* pounds? Is this what Richard really meant when he told Juliet that she “made life happen where it shouldn’t be?” Was Rachel previously a man? Is that what she really wanted her whole life - to be a woman and have a baby? Was this also what happened when Juliet referred to (in her first flashback) when she was talking about the male rats? Or, there has been a very serious prop error.
sisterschart.jpg Click to enlarge

17. Ben tells Juliet that Jacob will save her sister if she stays on the island. It makes me wonder if the sister has an implant like Claire that they can activate. Is this sounding like the X-Files with the implants? And remember that Sawyer was told they implanted a device in him (which they later said was a lie, but could it be true?). Crazy Nazi scientists that they are.

18. Juliet the hero saves the day and makes Claire all better. If these people trust her after this they will have proven themselves officially as the dumbest people ever. Have they not heard the stories from Sayid, Kate and Sawyer? So she conveniently knows how to make her better. That would make me even more suspicious of her. And WTF with Sawyer and Sayid being the only ones asking real questions about Juliet to Jack. Sawyer asks why Jack he is fighting every one of *us* to defend one of *them.* Good question! These people tried to kill Charlie. Is he going to trust her now because of Claire? Also, Juliet says that they were giving Claire a serum to *stop her symptoms* in late pregnancy. What symptoms? Claire was just fine and wasn’t having major problems with her pregnancy. HELLO, wake up people! And Jack just lets her run off to do God only knows what? Kate HAS to know that something is going on between those two.

19. Juliet has been on the island for three years. Desmond has been on the island 3 years. Coincidence?

20. Juliet says that Karl developed the X-Rays. Where did Karl go so wrong after the plane crash to end up a lab rat to the Others?

21. Jack sends Juliet to get the serum and it’s nightime. The next we see Juliet she’s out getting the goods and it’s daytime. The caves (where the serum is hidden) were only a short walk away from the beach. What is up with that? Lazy editing or shooting schedule? They know those of us obsessed fans screencap these.

22. Here is a link to information about the symbol on the tree. Interesting.
symbolontree.jpg Click to enlarge

23. I’m interested to know what Sayid did in Basra (a city in Iraq). Why is it ethical ammunition for Juliet? But I don’t care enough to think he should have backed off of Juliet. Whatever he did then doesn’t justify what the Others are doing to them now.
sayidbasra.jpg Click to enlarge

24. I think that the song “Downtown” calms Juliet because it was the song playing in the car when she left her sister and went into Mittlewerks. It is probably a link to her sister.

25. I find it hard to believe that Mikael had such good reception from that small satellite on top of his farm house. I think that the Others wanted the survivors to believe that their main mode of communication was blown up to take away their hope. But as clear as this is and then getting the *live feed* from Richard, there has to be more to this. Plus, I found it interesting that the flight disappearing was apparently big news. You kind of forget about the world back home when you get so engrossed in the lives on the island. Or maybe that’s just me.
planeontv.jpg Click to enlarge

26. I have some problems with Richard’s live feed back to the island. First, Richard is just standing there at the park video taping Rachel and no one notices? Have you ever seen a tv news crew filming a live shot? There is a truck nearby with a tower sending the signal back to the station. Wouldn’t it seem odd that some guy is standing there with a camera and a truck with a tower? Next, who is to say that that is Rachel’s child that she is playing with? Couldn’t she be a nanny?

27. I can’t get a clear shot of it, but Jack has this new tattoo on his arm. This was not there in the beginning of the show. Only after going to the Others. Juliet got a brand when she betrayed them, why did Jack get artwork?
jacksarm2.jpg Click to enlarge

28. Some shots from next week. Some things to think about.

Is Jack In On It?

Wednesday, April 11th, 2007

Sayid and Sawyer aren’t done with Juliet.  But what about Jack?  He’s awfully anxious to “protect” Juliet and make sure she is comfortable on camp.  Ben probably has Jack running part of his agenda too.  I don’t trust him.

Holding My Breath

Sunday, April 8th, 2007

Another new character is coming to the show next week. Of course, those of us on the Ken & Barbie Must Die campaign all cringed at the same time. But, per the quote below, we won’t be subjected to her sudden and unexplained appearance in the middle of the beach. Way to go ABC. Maybe you got a clue.

Source: Ausiello Report

Question: Any juicy information on Lost?— Mary
Ausiello: The juiciest! A new female character will be introduced later this season, and get this: According to exec producer Carlton Cuse, “She does not appear in a flashback, she is not an Other, and she is not one of the survivors of Flight 815.” What does that leave? You tell me! BREAKING NEWS! The role’s just been cast. Head on over to the Ausiello Report to find out which Las Vegas star won the part!

For the record, the actress is Marsha Thomason. It’s scary that TV Guide calls her the “Las Vegas Babe.” *groan* Where are Rose and Bernard when you need them?

3 X 15 Left Behind

Thursday, April 5th, 2007

Let me digress for a moment.  Ken and Barbie.  They are dead.  Face it folks, no one is going to get dug out by some golden lab and if Vincent should happen to be that industrious, how would they live being under a mountain of sand?  They’re gone.  TTFE!

1.  Cassidy.  This backstory ranks right up there with the dumbest, biggest waste of story time.  I kept waiting for betrayal.  Nothing.  Waited for the name Sawyer to come up.  Nothing.  Waited for Mom to do something cool and shocking (like show up in a magic box on the island).  Nothing.  Have I lost my imagination here?  I feel like I’ve eaten the forbidden apple and now my eyes are open to the reality of the nothingness that gets thrown into this show sometimes.  OK, a crossover, big time.  Big deal!  I’d rather have someone with a crossover actually realize it (remember when Saywer told Jack about meeting his dad?  Classic!).

2.  Agreed to gnid gnid (see last post comments), Juliet has some skills!  But so does Kate so where in the world did Juliet train (anyone seeing Kill Bill images with me … more like Kill Ben!)?  Plus her shoulder has been dislocated four times before.
julietskills.jpg  Click to enlarge

3.  Kate always has the same song playing in her flashbacks.  Is she going to finally go walking after midnight one of these episodes already?
0001Lost 3 X 150088-tn.jpg  Click to enlarge

4.  So let me get this right.  There is a village, with houses and TOILETS and showers and they are just going to take a few things and LEAVE!!!??? Screw Jack as the leader.  Sawyer would be all over that village if he knew about it.  Plus there is a security system!  I love this show but come on!!!!  Leave a few people back at the beach in shifts to watch for rescue and live at the houses with beds!  And kitchens!  OK, you have a few hippies that probably like sleeping on the beach, but not people like me.  They have a rec hall and bikes.  Come on!

5.  Here’s something to blog about… the gas is $1.32 and $1.81 for the *expensive* stuff!  Talk amongst yourselves…
gas.jpg  Click to enlarge

6.  I love it that Sawyer has it counted down to the minutes until he can use nicknames.  But check it out, he’s got a watch!!!  Again with the watches!
0001Lost 3 X 150288-tn.jpg  Click to enlarge

7.  Where is Rosseau?  Simple.  She found her daughter and is not going to lose her again.  Which means she is following the Others.  Why haven’t we seen a backstory on her?  She is far and away more interesting than the You-Know-Whos (the one’s who won’t be named) and they got a whole episode.

8.  There is supposed to be a backstory coming up featuring (maybe) the Degroots.  The reason I mention this is because they were college hippies back in the 60’s and 70’s and there were a lot of riots going on back then and what did the cops wear?  Gas masks.  They threw the smoke bombs at the students to break up the riots.  I can’t say that I think that there were riots on the island but maybe they brought along gear from home just in case anyone tried to come to the island and disturb the compound.  I’m just trying to speculate why the would have this kind of gear on the island.

9.  Lies, lies, lies.  Juliet asks Kate what happened and says she was making tea when they threw a canister through her window.  But then how did she voluntarily get handcuffed to Kate?  And not only does she know about Old Smokey, she looks at it like she knows far more than she is going to say.  Also, she knows the fence is off.  It doesn’t make sense.

10.  I think that The Others have another camp in the middle of the island. Remember when the Tailies were taking Sawyer & Co. back to the beach they avoided the middle of the island because that is where *They* came from.  I also think that there is still another group of Others that we haven’t seen yet.

11.  In this scene where Kate and Juliet are arguing and it starts raining, you can hear a loud squealing noise in the background three times.  I asked Scott if he heard it, which he did not (maybe because I was talking, lol) but I just watched the scene back now and there is definitely something there.  Then Smokey shows up for a little paparazzi action… so I wonder if there is some connection (remember the bird that said *Hurley* then swooped down on him?).

12.  I wonder if a little picture popped out after this.  lol.  I guess this is another clue as to what the Smoke Monster is.  Security system that takes pictures.  Yeah, that’s it.

13.  The last time I remember Kate seeing the *monster* it had just pulled out the pilot and shredded him.  No wonder she’s so scared!  Juliet doesn’t seem nearly as frightened though, does she?  Smokey makes his loud *roar* and Kate tells her to run yet Juliet just sits there whining about her arm.  We know now that Juliet does know about Smokey yet she didn’t run.  Why?

14.  Well, he’s not as wrinkly as he was a couple of weeks ago.  Man, to be a fly on the wall in the writer’s room….

15.  I think that it’s Hurley who is the real leader.  He can even get Sawyer to “join in” now that is a leader.  He is always trying to find a way to bring people together.  Golf, van and now working on Sawyer.  Who would seriously follow what Hurley said?  But then again, like Hurley said (ba dum pum) people need a leader and will follow Sawyer.  Hurley’s the Dick Cheney to Sawyer’s George Bush (only not as evil or dumb, and much more honest).

16.  Too funny to see Sawyer and the boar again.  Only disappointment is that I was expecting *something* to happen after all the hullabalo he had before with the boar.

17.  When Smokey is chasing Kate & Juliet the second time they come up on the fence.  Juliet yells to Kate twice that they are off, then grabs the key and unlocks the handcuffs.  Hello, McFly?  How does she know they are off?  How did she gets gassed but still had the key?  How did she get the choice to be with Kate anyway?

18.  I don’t know if you can tell from this shot, but there are three distinct puffs of black smoke that come up and join into the one cloud that comes to the fence.  Plus other shots.

19.  Why didn’t Smokey go *over* the fence?

20.  Then Kate comes up to Juliet all po’d and when Juliet admits they know about Smokey it turns out she was upset about the handcuffs! Wha…. let’s see, the importance of handcuffs vs the unexplained phenomena of a black cloud that floats around killing people.  Think, think, think.  What should Kate question first?

21.  Wow, Sawyer is sharing his beer.  The writers were right, we are seeing a side of him that I never thought we would see… a side that he had to eventually face.  Sharing his beer.

22.  And the cheese stands alone, drinking water.

23.  I saw at least two gas canisters on the floor in Jack’s house.  I guess that is why he was passed out for an entire day longer than Kate.

24.  OMG, when will they listen to Sayid?  Leave the woman behind Jack!

25.  One thought on Locke… remember folks, he runs his own agenda.

Sayid knows!

*WHEN* will they listen to Sayid?  He has been right about all of the Others so far and here we go again, turning our heads to give Juliet the benefit of the doubt.  She lied to Kate twice (helloooo, Old Smokey) so there are lots of things she’s going to lie about.
