The Amazing Invisible Jacob

Wednesday, May 9th, 2007

Locke won’t die.  I think I know who will, but see my Spoiler page to read it.

I think that Mikhail is the one and only Dharma survivor.  He said so when we first met him (well, Mrs. Klugh might have been the nurse we saw but that is up for debate).  He is still loyal.  He knows what Ben did to the real *Others.*  I think he followed Ben to Jacob.  I think even though Locke kicked his booty that he will save him (conveniently, he’s a medic).  I foresee these two working together.  No one wanted to help Mikhail when Locke was kicking the snot out of him.  The Others don’t like him and now Locke is also anti-Other.

Jacob is some sort of shape shifter.  I know, I know, it sounds supernatural/science fiction.  My sister first suggested that Jacob is the one taking the form of the dead loved ones and I thought it was kooky.  Then I started thinking about it.  It makes sense.  Think of all the dead people they have seen.  How?  How is Jacob doing it?  So much to ponder!  Why is he asking Locke for help?  Is that why Ben wants Locke dead - because he is the only person who can *see* Jacob?

I can’t believe that they didn’t go back to the camp when Jack said they had catching up to do.  Maybe he’ll help them fight the Others but don’t forget, my friends, that he and Juliet didn’t look a bit surprised about Naomi or the boat out on the water.

Volcano?  I’ve thought for awhile that there was something volcanic there.  Look at the patterns on the beach.  My Scott mentioned lava tubes and how they could be traveling through them and that is how they get around so quickly.  Locke found volcanic ash on the way to Jacob.

What happened to Annie?  Did Ben also sacrifice her?  I guess we can see why Ben was so adamant about Locke killing his own father.  And Mr. Richard.  My my.  Seems there is a bit more to him that we don’t know.  He’s creepy.

Why doesn’t Richard age?

So much to think about.  Must go back and watch it again.  Ahhhh, just like the good old days!

The End of Lost

Tuesday, May 8th, 2007

There are lots of rumors and articles floating around the internet about when Lost is going to end. One says 2009 and another says 2010.

Click here for one such article.

It makes sense that it would end in 2009. The writers have said since the beginning that they were only going to go for five years and were writing each season accordingly. I like that idea. What, you say, Gitsie Girl gone mad?! No, I love this show but come on, how long can you sustain the idea of these people on this island like guinea pigs? Plus, I like a show to go out on top not beating every story line and character angle to it’s bitter end (I can see it now, Sawyer starts his own tribe with the other Others who turn out to be the Harlem Globetrotters!).

But, per the article above, they may also have a way to end it at 5 seasons, stretching it over 6 seasons.  Money grubbing ABC.

There is supposed to be an official press release on May 15th so we will see then what the decision will be.

“I’m on my own journey now.”

1. Hey John, since you’ve been on the island, when were you not on *your own* journey?

2. Cool camera shot. Oooo. It’s hell! NOT!

3. If you can, go back and listen to the background noise in this scene. It sounds just like the *cricket* sound that you hear when the black smoke is swirling about. I didn’t see anything but it makes me wonder what they know about it since they can just traipse around the island with no worries yet the Losties keep seeming to have big issues with it. It’s a security system, but for what? SOMEONE ASK DANIELLE! Geesh, these people!

4. Hm, it’s not the first time they’ve gone into a camp and stolen the pregnant women? Or it’s not the first time they’ve taken people for their experiments?

5. Killing Locke’s dad seems to be more of a redemption for Sawyer than it does for Locke. He couldn’t do it so he enlisted Sawyer (which, duh, the Others knew. They gave him the red folder didn’t they?). I am impressed, however, that they knew this guy was the real Sawyer. Which brings me to another question. Once someone finds their redemption, they are killed off the show. *Fingers crossed* that is not the fate for Saywer. (Think Ana Lucia, Boone, Eko). So anyway, this killing didn’t release Locke from anything besides the burden of doing it himself. This was Saywer’s redemption song.

6. Next question. Did they really kill Cooper dead, dead? Remember that Mikhail was down but apparently not out and he came back. I wondered when I saw him laying there if the same thing could happen and then would Sawyer believe this hell thing?

7. “Remind me not to rescue you Sayid.” Uh, hello? You can tell little miss attitude hasn’t been around very long. Don’t make me hate you already lady and have to photoshop your death until the writers imagine a slow and painful death for you too. I think it will be down to Sayid and Locke anyway as far as who gets them rescued (of course, Locke wouldn’t go but I could see him saving them.).

8. OK. Naomi was on a search and rescue mission following coordinates to the middle of the ocean. It wounds believable. What is it that Sayid didn’t like? Per the map below, Bali is close enough that this sounds reasonable to find the plane there. Sure, they were off course but at least this looks reasonable. Notice all of the islands here.

9. I think that there is definitely an element of jealously between Ben and Locke. Each is running their own game but Ben was probably for the most part unchallenged until Locke came along. Ben would know Locke’s history, just like they know all of their backstories. So he would know that Locke isn’t a killer. Which on an aside, I’m convinced Locke never killed that cop out in the woods. But do the Others like to watch murder? Is this like their gang initiation? Cindy told Jack when he was in the cage that they were also there to watch. Sickos. :)

10. Good thing they got to use this expensive set again!

11. So they brought the slaves there to mine the island huh? As a reminder, GG has been saying for at least two seasons now that they are mining. I wouldn’t be at all surprised to see some underground tunnel exploration next season.

12. Oh boy, never trust a woman in love not to tell the man she’s in love with a secret! Especially if you know the man and he’s an evil guy from the Other side who you suspect is up to no good. Never.

13. They have really made Kate’s character into a ditz which is horribly disappointing. Uh, did Jack or Juliet look surprised that there is a woman in camp from a ship nearby that might save them? No, they didn’t and so why didn’t Kate notice? She was just upset that he didn’t seem to care that the boys didn’t trust him. Hmpf. Then Juliet wants to tell Kate something and he says no. WTF Kate?! Pull you head out of that swollen up love sick heart and get a clue here!

14. Possibilites of what Juliet is going to tell Kate: That the boat out on the water is actually there to drop off supplies but that she and Jack made another pact with Ben that they would be able to get on that ship.

15. Danielle is there for dynamite. She is working on getting her kid back.

16. Richard is one sneaky SOB. Conveniently he has Sawyer’s file. He tells Locke that they are getting sick of Ben and his limited view of the island’s power. Telling Locke that his dad has to go so he can fulfill his purpose. John needs to be a little more skeptical about these people.

17. Naomi says the clouds opened and she saw land. Really? At night, in a helicopter, and cloudy to boot.

18. Where did Juliet get the makeup?

19. If Desmond’s button pushing is what took the plane down, then what took Naomi’s helicopter down? I don’t think that it was the button alone that caused the crash.

Locke Is Creeping Me Out!

Wednesday, May 2nd, 2007

Whoa! That look on his face…. almost as creepy as Ben when he was in the hatch. Then hoisting the dead body on his shoulder.

I thought that maybe Sawyer was on the wacky paste but it looks like he really did it. What an intense scene.

So where are they? It’s not HELL! I’ve worked there and I can tell you, the island is not hell. lol But seriously, please don’t start the purgatory stuff. His dad was totally wacked. Maybe it’s not an isolated island, but it’s not somewhere supernatural either. The writers have told us and I believe them.

And don’t trust everything Naomi tells us. Sayid knew right away and started asking questions. He has been right to date so I’m going to watch and see.

Richard set Locke up, too. Maybe they really wanted Sawyer but knew that they couldn’t con the con man.

The Brig: Sneak Peek

Tuesday, May 1st, 2007

I’m thinking that Locke doesn’t have Ben under that hood. Guess who! (I’m thinking someone has some daddy issues and Sawyer’s going to get conned again into killing the wrong man).

I wonder what Jack wants to tell Kate? (Do they know she’s preggo?)

Snippet from tomorrow.
