Promo Screenshots

Here are some screen shots from the Season 4 extended promo (see prior post for the video):

It appears that the helic*others* summon the survivors to the fuselage.

I think this could be where our Losties splinter into two groups. I’ve read for awhile that this would happen, some thinking it would be the beach versus the caves, but Locke comes up to the group and says that anyone that wants to live needs to come with him. I could see Jack being hell bent on getting off the island and forming his own group. Could Locke buddy up with Ben here? I would just recommend keeping Locke away from any explosives.

Then there is Hurley, going for a swim and checking out Jacob’s shack. Have he and the others forgotten about the little *problem* wandering around the jungle – namely one very large cloud of a man-killing smoke monster?

Then there is a closeup of an eye in the shack. If I didn’t know any better I would say Bruce Lee is on that island. lol

“6″ over the Hydra logo. Not including “?” in the middle of the map, there were six stations. Still thinking on this, but we probably won’t know until the show airs.

Season 4 Extended Promo

Friday, December 28th, 2007

US named Lost on it’s “Must Watch” list, second to (what else) American Idol. You know…. watching this extended Lost promo gave me goose bumps. The last time I had goose bumps during AI was when Paul Potts first came out and sang (if you haven’t seen it, you must, must, must click on the link and watch it). Man, it was like a scene from a movie. Oh wait, that was Britain’s Got Talent. Hmm, well then I’ve probably had puke come up listening to Simon tell mentally handicapped people that they look like bush babies, but never goosebumps. Don’t get me wrong, I admit that I had moments that I enjoyed AI and looked forward to certain singers, but in my opinion it’s turned into over-scripted, over-edited, mean spirited trash. I feel bad for some of the everyday Joe’s that come on the show because I don’t think they know what they are getting into (I’ve read that the behind the scenes is terrible for contestants).

… off on a tangent… again

See the promo below. I just *might* have a copy of it coming down to my computer that *might* end up in screen caps for my next post. *shhhh*. Looks like Jack’s dad sitting in Jacob’s love shack. Excellent Smithers!

Anyone else starting to speculate on what the *new* Others really do want on the island?

My New Moderator

Thursday, December 27th, 2007

Every blog needs a moderator… I know that mine is pretty young (she’s only 5 months old) but she’s so cute that I couldn’t say no!  Welcome Saya to gitsiegirl.com.  Her main duties are chasing the mouse pointer, walking across the keyboard as I’m typing, sitting on my lap and looking so freaking cute I can’t help but stop and pet her and watching reruns of Lost with me (so maybe she sleeps through parts of it, but she stays for the whole thing).  The best part about it is that she doesn’t talk during the episodes.  She’s perfect.

Thoughts of Sugar Plum Losties Dance In My Head…

Tuesday, December 25th, 2007

I was looking at my 2007 calendar before I left work on Friday (I took this whole week off, haha suckers!) and was hoping that my daughter took my blatant repeated requests subtle hints that I needed a new Lost calendar. So thank goodness I found this under my tree:

lost_2008_calendar.jpg Click to enlarge

Confessional: Last year I just couldn’t go a whole month of looking at Ana Lucia. So I tore out the Sawyer pix and put it over her. Thinking maybe this will happen again in 2008 but we will see. I ended the year with Jack which struck up conversations with co-workers over Party Of Five Matthew Fox vs Lost Matthew Fox. Mostly agreed his hair is much better now.

My sister told me that her boyfriend, who happens to be Korean, apparently was quizzing who was the best looking guy on the calendar when they took my daughter shopping for my gift. I thought it an odd question until he pointed out that he of course thought Jin was the best looking of all. It got me thinking. Yes, Sawyer is my winner of shirtless yummy award. Jack would have to be who I would pick as all around good guy considering he *seems* to be the aw shucks family guy in *real* life. Hurley is freaking hilarious (check out his blog that is linked here). But…. if I were to meet any of them (their characters of course) in real life I would probably be the most realistically attracted to Charlie. Something about that dorky, dirty, flawed, ex-musician that I know I would find so charming.

And the winner is… charlie.jpg Click to enlarge

And these are the kind of thoughts that intrude into my brain as I work through my Christmas Day sugar withdrawals and I lay here as my stomach starts to go back to a normal size after too much ham and mashed potatoes.

New Day and Time

Sunday, December 16th, 2007

ABC announced on Friday that Lost will return at Thursdays at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 31st.

I, for one, am thrilled that Lost is back on at 9:00.  I am also beyond thrilled that they are for sure coming back this season, even if it’s only for 8 episodes.  I’m thinking this could be ratings GOLD for Lost considering there will be nothing new, outside of a barrage of reality TV (American Gladiators? They must be deseperate) to compete against.

Not really any new info, but this article came out in the LA Times the same day as the time change announcement:

Is half of “Lost” better than nothing?

ABC and its producers are hoping so. The network released its strike-affected midseason schedule Friday and, in a surprise move, said that beginning Jan. 31 it would put the island mystery in the Thursday night time slot vacated by “Grey’s Anatomy,” which is running out of fresh episodes.

When Fox announced last month that it would postpone “24″ indefinitely, speculation arose that ABC might decide to hold the similarly serialized “Lost,” which has only eight completed episodes of its 16-episode season.

The switch to Thursdays marks the third time-slot move for “Lost” in four seasons and the first time it won’t air on Wednesday nights. On Thursdays the mysterious castaways won’t have to face off against Fox’s “American Idol” machine, nor will they compete against original episodes of CBS’ “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation” as long as the writers strike continues.

“Lost” co-creator Damon Lindelof said, “The only show you don’t want to be up against in January is ‘American Idol,’ and there were very few time slots that would afford us to not compete with ‘Idol.’

“If they had told us last year we were going to get the ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ time slot, I would have been thrilled, especially since there’s no new ‘CSI’ to go against,” Lindelof continued. “But the time slot is completely colored by the fact that we’re still engaged in this writers strike. It’s bad for the entire town.”

“Lost” and “24″ have done better in the ratings when the networks aired episodes without interruption in scheduling. To that end, ABC, in a highly unconventional move, announced in May that “Lost,” the series that helped lift the network out of last place, would have three more seasons of 16 uninterrupted episodes each, airing from February to May through 2010.

The decision came after a tumultuous year for the series. ABC aired its third season in two parts — six episodes in the fall and 16 in midseason — and the size of its audience declined by 14%. When the show returned in midseason it picked up momentum, convincing ABC executives that the show’s fans prefer it to have a straight run.

But the strike has altered those plans, and ABC may now have to air “Lost” in two parts. Lindelof and executive producer Carlton Cuse intended the new season to be a 16-episode arc and were hoping that the strike would be resolved in time for ABC to be able to air the series in its entirety continuously. With the end of the strike increasingly uncertain, Lindelof said Friday that ABC had no choice.

“What I would not want to do is hold these episodes of ‘Lost’ indefinitely,” he said. “I feel like the fans haven’t seen any ‘Lost’ since the end of May, and I completely understand the network’s decision to air these eight episodes.

“We certainly designed our season as 16 straight, and this is not ideal by any stretch of the imagination. But we can’t go on strike in one breath and then complain about the fact that the series isn’t airing the way we want it to in the other.”

Because of complaints from fans last year that the show poses more questions than it answers, the writers learned to wrap up their seasons more definitively, Cuse said. To that end, they designed the first half of the fourth season as setup and the second half as payoff.

“There is a fear that if the strike continues and we’re not able to complete the season, that people might feel a little frustrated because those eight episodes aren’t conclusive,” Cuse said.
