It’s Neil time….
Apparently (please, please say it’s true!) Lost Season 4 promos will be running in the theaters before movies. I don’t know which movies (but I will be trying to find out, believe me!) but if anyone has seen any please let us know. I only wish that we could see the whole episode on the big screen. I don’t know if I’d pay $10, but maybe they could run it on a Sunday as a matinee or something that would allow a cheaper price. Then we could watch without commercials (they’d make their money on the tickets) and have the luxury of the theater experience.
I’m a dreamer. But for now, I’ll be watching for those promos.
You can believe this or not, but here is a reported recap of one of the previews:
What follows could be spoilers for season 4…
I work at a movie theater, and I happened to see the new promo tonight. First off, I had a major LOST geek moment when I saw the footage (wasn’t expecting it). The promo is pretty short (details that the plane went down in 2004 and that rescue would be in 2008..or will it?). There are a lot of very quick cuts/dialogue from last season and season 4 footage. Everything happened so fast, but I do recall seeing the following…
-Jack firing a gun in the dark
-a cow/bull
-Locke claiming that the people arriving aren’t here for them but something else
-a nonhuman skull with a knife in it
-blood dripping down and Kate looking up (at something/someone dead?)
-AND…what appeared to be Charlie. And what’s even odder is that he had a devilish grin and what looked like short hair.
Overall, a very exciting promo (hell, ANYTHING new is great).

From Ask Ausiello:
Question: What does the strike mean for Lost? Any idea how many episodes they finished pre-strike? Is it still scheduled to air some time in February? — Mike
Ausiello: Why do I suddenly feel as if I’m talking to myself, Mike? Why do I also suddenly feel like I’m not going to like what I have to say? At least I know the answer to that second part — it’s because I don’t like what I have to say. If the strike extends into the new year and beyond, there is a chance ABC may opt to delay the new season until the fall. Or worse yet, February 2009. Another scenario has the network simply airing the eight episodes already in the can this February as originally planned — something Team Darlton would not be in favor of. Says Lost cocreator Carlton Cuse, “Damon [Lindelof] and my concern about running the [eight] episodes we will have made is that it will feel a little like reading half a Harry Potter novel, then having to put it down. There is a mini-cliff-hanger at the end of Episode 8, but it’s like the end of an exciting book chapter; it’s not the end of the novel. Damon and I didn’t write [the ending of Episode 8] differently [with the looming strike in mind]. We wrote it to be the ending of Episode 8.” In any case, he concedes that the decision to hold or air the episodes isn’t ultimately theirs. “It’s really [ABC honcho Steve MacPherson’s] call,” Cuse notes, adding, “No one was happy with the six-episode run last season.”
