4 X 12: There’s No Place Like Home (Pt1)

Saturday, May 17th, 2008

What a pickle. On one hand, I want the second part of the finale NOW! On the other, I don’t want the season to end so that we face another looooong hiatus.

1. You would think that “Miss Decker” would be sitting with the Losties talking to them, soothing them, asking questions. But she’s sitting in front with the pilots. I’d be sitting with them.

2. When Miss Decker first comes to the back of the plane she looks of the screen right and smiles at someone in acknowledgment. Then she comes forward to the Losties. Who is she acknowledging? It’s not the Losites.

3. It looks like Creepy Eyed Man. My copy isn’t very high res but it looks like him and he’s sitting in a very creepy Jacob-in-the-cabin way. On the other hand, if it was him then wouldn’t Hurley have recognized him when he visited him in the asylum?

4. A couple of things on when the back of the plane opens. I thought that this was the *eye opening* of this episode. Same symbolism. The other thing that popped into my head was that it, for some reason, put me in mind of Close Encounters of The Third Kind. Like aliens coming out of the mothership. I bet you would feel like an alien coming back home after what they have been through.

5. “… I promised those people that I would get them off of this island.” He’ll never rest back home until he makes that happen.

6. Here are some shots of Dan’s book with a sketch of the Orchid. I think he knows that they have to get off the island because when it moves his coordinates will no longer work and they will be stuck there. I’m curious though how Dan knew about the secondary protocol. Up until this point he didn’t seem to be in the know this much. I bet they get stuck there and will be part of the next two seasons. Maybe he’ll finally take the tie off (SKID).

7. I’m sure there are some anagrams in the names of the locations.

8. Wow, that story that Oceanic is telling is a whopper. But, wouldn’t the “real” story be even more unbelievable? A typhoon kicks up the supplies from a fishing boat complete with basic supplies and a raft. Incredible. Apparently it must have had a change of clothes, too, if we are to believe this story since none of them of wearing what they had on while on the plane. And how in the world does Kate explain getting out of the handcuffs in time to jump off of the plane with the others?

9. I think that Sayid and the other survivors have to lie about the others being alive. I think that they are under the impression that they are protecting them, that if the world at large knew about the island and the other survivors then the “bad guys” who tried to kill them in the first place would be out searching for the island and thus putting their friends in danger.

10. According to Ben, moving the island is both dangerous and unpredictable. I’m thinking the last time they did this it was the “incident” that has been discussed before.

11. Love, love, LOVE the banter between Ben and Hurley. Watch it again if you can. It’s awesome. How intimidating it would be to be Jorge Garcia there between two Emmy winning actors but he held his own!

12. I wonder if any of the supplies in the box will be of use later? I wonder what the original use was? Why crackers? To ease an upset stomach (as Kate would say). And what is the significance of 15 years? So many mysteries to this box. I wonder if Ben’s last use was right after he killed off the Dharma Initiative.

13. Look in the background. It’s the frame of the church that Eko and Charlie were building. Seems so long ago. Think of everything that has happened since then. Think of everything yet to come.

14. The big takeover of Sun’s father’s company was done through five different banks. Could each of the survivors (minus Aaron) have been in on it? Will we see his connection to the Oceanic crash that perhaps Sun knows about?

15. When Hurley is walking in his house it was a pretty dirty trick they did to us by letting us hear whispers. Of course, you are thinking it’s an island thing when it’s actually his family and friends.

16. I like that they brought the numbers back. It was like the writers way of saying, “Hey, we haven’t forgotten about you.” That they are telling us that they know we want more answers for questions that have been around awhile.

17. At some point Hurley must decide that the car is OK. Remember that he is driving it in the opening scene of the season.

18. “Hello Michael. What ‘cha been up to?”

19. Is it just me or when Jack and Sawyer come up on Frank as he’s working on the helicopter, does all the banging and cursing remind you of the scene from “A Christmas Story” when the dad is working on the furnace? I’m just saying…

20. Frank and Sawyer. A match up I would love to see more of. Frank could give it right back to Sawyer I’m sure. I wonder what kinds of nicknames Frank would dream up for Sawyer. Sayer came up with one for Frank right away, “Shaggy.”

21. So Claire’s mom came out of the coma? She even says that she was in the hospital when he came to find Claire. She looks pretty darned good for being in a coma for years and just recently waking up. Can we assume that there was something else that woke her up? Maybe some of the same healing *magic* that was used on Juliet’s sister? If they want Jack to go back to the island, finding out Claire is his sister is probably a good way to do it. I don’t think that anyone is fooled into thinking that Aaron is really Kate’s baby.

22. I’m sensing an Emmy for Matthew Fox this year and this scene ought to do it for him.

23. Is it too farfetched to think that there are “two” Richard’s on the island? What else would explain why he and The Others are back in their island clothes rather than their regular clothes? Could there be twins? Every season it seems we are introduced to new sets of “Others” and we might get to see that there are other “Others” yet. Why would Ben want Richard to capture Kate and Sawyer? So many whys.

Find the “lost” items

Tuesday, July 18th, 2006

Here is an ABC sponsored game. It’s kind of silly but the kids might enjoy it too, although, in the day of Nintendo, maybe not.

Link here to play.

On an aside, I was just thinking how odd it is to play a game about an airplane crash…

Alternate Ending

Coldplay and Lost

Sunday, February 19th, 2006

I found this link to a video someone made of Jack put to one of my favorite Coldplay songs. You just can’t go wrong when you take two of my favorites and put them together!!

Here is another video and it is also very well done. This one makes the island look almost romantic.

This is a link for a Locke Video. Again, extremely well done. This one reminds me of why I like this character.

Lost Rhapsody

Gotta love Weird Al! Check this out (my favorite parts are the Flashback Dance Party and Locke playing the tuba - OK the animals chasing Charlie is great too)!

The Sawyer Song

Lost in “Blog”land

Tuesday, November 15th, 2005

First time blogger, long time lurker. You will find random thoughts here as well as Lost rantings – with lots of comments from you, I hope!

Feel free to say anything you want, as long as it’s complimentary to me of course!

As promised, here are my (continued, for my work friends) thoughts from last week’s Lost “Abandoned.”

1. Wondering what Walt was saying to Shannon? ‘’They’re coming and they’re close.'’ (backwards)

2. What if it was DANIELLE that killed Shannon? She had access to a gun. What if she shoots Shannon and runs. Ana Lucia could have been standing there ready to shoot Danielle but doesn’t take her shot. Everyone thinks it’s Ana Lucia, maybe they don’t see Danielle as she does know the forest. It’s an interesting set up because everyone will just know that they heard a shot and Ana Lucia has a gun. What will save her butt is when Sawyer wakes up and he tells everyone that there was only one bullet. Of course, then Ana Lucia will produce the gun and show them one bullet.

3. Danielle did warn Sayid to watch his group for anyone acting strange. Maybe she saw Shannon running around and was somehow “protecting” Sayid in her mind. We did see some odd POV shots last week and my sister made the comment that it was like someone was watching them. I kept thinking someone was going to jump from out of the trees the way they kept framing Sayid and Shannon in the shots. Danielle probably heard the whispers as did everyone out in the forest and thought Shannon was one of the others.

4. Maybe Sayid DID see Danielle shoot Shannon. That would explain the look on his face. Maybe the reaction we see in the previews from Ana Lucia is from her grief knowing she could have saved Shannon but didn’t take the shot. This could lead to her flashbacks as a cop. OR Danielle used something else to kill Shannon and Ana Lucia DID take the shot at Danielle. OR Danielle kills Shannon and almost simultaneously Ana Lucia shoots Danielle to stop her. Danielle is laying on the ground but Sayid looks up and only sees Ana Lucia. Lots of possibilities but I would guess that this somehow leads back to Ana Lucia’s days as a cop and how she thinks she should have saved someone. Maybe the cross over is that she arrests Kate!

5. Previews from this week’s show a clip on the beach after The Other’s had just taken some of the survivors (tail enders), and Ana Lucia finds a paper on the beach that The Others had left behind. What if it was a list with all their names on it. Maybe the tailenders weren’t supposed to survive and that is why they are killing them. OR maybe they are checking of the children or survivors that they need.

Here are synopsis of the next upcoming episodes:
