3 X 06: I Do

Saturday, November 11th, 2006

Forget Sawyer, Lost needs some serious redemption or they are going to *lose* viewers over the next 12 weeks. I will come back, but I’m obsessed so I don’t count. I have talked to more people who have *lost* their faith in the writers of this show. Did old Smokey eat Damon, Carlton and JJ and now we have ABC execs *insert shiver* writing and producing? Who said we need to sex up and dumb down the show? Not just with Kate and Sawyer but also bringing in Ken and Barbie, too. I just hope that you, my fellow Lost fans, can have faith that they will somehow revive this show. It has happened to other shows, I hope it can happen here, too. First, they must kill Ken and Barbie. Sorry, it needed to be said.

1. How perfectly fitting to have Kate marry a cop. How very sad how it ended for her. She wanted the “taco night” life but knew that wasn’t her. Edward (the cop formerly known as “The Marshall”) knew she couldn’t sit still. You could see the little girl in Kate living her *fantasy* when her mother-in-law gave her the necklace. As soon as she came around the corner with iced tea I knew that it was over. She could never get a passport to fly to Costa Rica (notice it was Oceanic Airline tickets?). On an aside, did she have to wear the silly 1950’s hairstyle? Or was that just so that for the first 1/2 of the show we would be questioning the timeline?
lost_kate_50hair.jpg Click to enlarge

2. It appears that this Kate backstory served to show us that Kate can never be with Jack. Jack is like Kevin, he is the *good* guy. Kate obviously loved Kevin very much, but in the end, as The Marshall told her, she had to run. As Sawyer said so long ago, a tiger doesn’t change it’s stripes. Kate *chose* Sawyer but her heart is not there. We could see it on her face when she first sees Jack. I LOVED that scene, btw. She never tells Sawyer she loves him, and when Jack tells her to leave him and run Kate is devastated. This was not the end of the love triangle. *If* Kate does get to safety she will do everything she can to get back to Jack and save him, too. Kate thinks that the criminal, Sawyer (I know that *we* love him, don’t get mad at me), is all she deserves.
lost_katejackmeet.jpg Click to enlarge

3. How did Ben know he had a tumor if the XRays were only a week old? Ben told Jack last week that he found out that he had a tumor and two days later a spinal surgeon fell from the sky. But the crash was about 70 days ago. Was it from the blood work? The timeline isn’t making sense of when he found out he has the tumor.

4. Points to the writers for getting *someone* on this island to wake up besides Desmond. When Jack threw the file at Juliet then told Ben he just wanted him to know how he would die, I was cheering! They lost me when Jack saw Kate and Sawyer together but I came back around knowing that Jack was conning Ben. Who is conning who here?
lost_jackpoint.jpg Click to enlarge

5. I’m thinking that once Kate radio’s back to Jack that they are safe he is going to let Ben die anyway. Then, he is going to turn to Juliet and say, “I kept my end of the bargain.” Then she’ll have to leave the *Others* knowing that the game will be up for her since they will know she made this deal with Jack. She told him she would keep him safe in exchange for letting Ben die. Maybe Juliet will be their ticket off this rock. She is set for the first backstory when we get back from the break so it seems she must be going to join as a regular cast member and they can’t keep Jack there forever.
lost_jacksurgery.jpg Click to enlarge

6. Thankfully, we only had to hear a line or two from Barbie this week and Ken just stood there. Ugh. That was *still* too much. Where is a big smoke monster when you need one, huh?

7. When Locke says that a bear killed Eko you can see by the look on Sayid’s face that he knows he is lying (a trained interrogator, remember?). He also knows that Locke is not heading back to camp to get shovels. But, Sayid is not unfamiliar with the *monster* as it appeared. Sayid has been around the monster before, albiet only in sound, when Danielle was holding him captive. He heard it and asked her if it was a monster and at that time she told him that there were “no such thing as monsters.” (Later on she told several Losties that it was a security system). Maybe they should go and talk to her, but that would make too much sense *groan*.
lost_sayidlocke.jpg Click to enlarge

8. Does Locke really believe that the smoke monster is what brought them there? That is what he tells Sayid in this scene.

9. Is it just me or does Kevin look remarkably like Tom? When he first opened the door I said, “It’s Tom!”
lost_kevinlooksliketom.jpg lost kates tom.jpg Click either image to enlarge

10. So the alarms go off when the compound has been breached. Is smokey the security system here? Are the two even related? When the alarms first go off, Pickett gets on the radio and before he even knows that it’s Alex he asks, “Where is she?” Who? Juliet? Then he goes on, after he asks if the doctor got out again, “Well does he know?” Does the doctor know or does HE know? Maybe the illusive HIM is getting upset with the Others and the trouble that they have been getting from the Losties. Maybe Pickett is hoping that HE doesn’t know there is a compound breach.

11. Even though I don’t like Pickett hurting Sawyer, I think it would be cool if he becomes some sort of *stalker* trying to regain his pride after Sawyer escapes. This could provide some very interesting scenes back on the beach! This guy is a great actor and this is a great role for him. Kill Ken and Barbie and write this guy in!
lost_pickett.jpg Click to enlarge

12. During the “breach” Pickett asks “how the hell did she get *OVER* here?” Does this mean that there are indeed two islands and if so, how DID she get there? Alex may be Kate and Sawyer’s ticket to safety.

13. Is Ben Alex’s daughter? Is she not the Alex that we assumed was Danielle’s daughter? Why does she ask to talk to Ben and later, why does Ben ask if Alex asked about him?
lost_alex_slinghsot.jpg Click to enlarge

14. Speaking of kids, in one of Pickett’s tirades he says, “Shepard wasn’t even on Jacob’s list.” In the Christian Bible (maybe others too, I don’t know) Ben is Jacob’s son. Connection or red herring? I’m guessing that Jacob is *Him* not Ben. Anyhow, why does Jacob have a list? I thought that Ethan and Goodwin were making the lists based on Ben’s orders? Maybe Jacob got the lists, did some research and then directed who they wanted. Did Ben modify the list because he knew that he had this tumor and wanted Jack to fix him?

15. What are they building here? Kate’s only says that it’s big. I’m thinking another hatch perhaps? But they are digging rocks, too, so they are also clearing the area. Do we even know enough about these Others to predict what is being built or are we just grasping at straws? They could just be using this as a distraction and a way to beat down Kate and Sawyer’s spirits.
lost_itsbig.jpg Click to enlarge

16. Speaking of the clearing site, those red flowers (remember, the poppies?) are all around this area. I doubt it’s a coincidence that the flowers keep popping (no pun intended) up around the islands.
lost_redflowers.jpg Click to enlarge

17. I was going to talk about the Kate-Sawyer and where Jack fits in love triangle thingy but it’s just too daytime soap opera-y for me. Talk amongst yourselves.

18. Was there supposed to be some weird imagery connection between Kate putting on the hood and Monica taking up her veil? They showed the one scene right before the other.
lost_kate_bag.jpg lost_kateveil.jpg Click to enlarge

19. Why does Kate continue to call and taunt the Marshall? She knows that he will never leave her alone. Why does she call around the holidays? Maybe he’s her reality check and she knows that she can’t stay with Kevin so she uses the Marshall as that reminder. Like a big sister that has to remind you sometimes when you are out of your element.
lost_katephone.jpg Click to enlarge

20. OK, so Jack gets a call over the intercom (sounded like Alex) right at the moment that Kate and Sawyer are on camera snuggling (we’ll call it that). Then he wanders through the hall and *bingo!* the one door open is the room with the cameras. How convenient. More importantly, though, Jack gets the handgun and has access to enough guns for Kate and Sawyer yet chooses to *save* Kate the other way. This doesn’t make sense. Jealous or not, he wants out of there and considers at least Kate his friend, why wouldn’t he take advantage of this?

21. We saw Jack able to run, Kate can get out of her cage and Sawyers lock is off of his cage yet they all stay. I’m not buying this. Either poor writing here or everyone had their own agenda but it’s not very obvious what it was. Even if Sawyer thinks they are trapped on *this* island, with his free spirit I could still see him trying to escape captivity. I don’t understand this.

22. Speaking of Sawyer, he KNOWS that there are cameras around yet he still gets down and dirty with Kate right there? Then, they spend the night nude together knowing that the Others could walk up any minute. I guess he must be thinking he doesn’t have anything to lose at this point. Ick!

23. We know that when Michael went looking for Walt he went North. Then, Locke looks at the stick and it tells him to go North. I guess we will find out what it up there because Locke is on a mission. Good thing he has Sayid along, but wouldn’t it have been better to have a whole army of people to help? Locke keeps going out on these missions like some lone militia but last time it got Boone killed!
lost_stick_north.jpg Click to enlarge

24. Speaking of this scene, this is a good example of how this show has been dumbed down. Did they really need to highlight what they wanted us to read? In the past, we would have been given a screen shot and the producers trusted that we, the viewers, were astute enough to figure out what we were supposed to see. I mean, we screen shot and analyze *everything!* Come on ABC, give us back *your* faith that we can figure it out!

25. The *only* reason I am posting a screenshot of this scene is because Scott pointed out how clean Kate’s feet are here. Little distractions are easy to find when you are having trouble staying *in* the show.
lost_cleanfeet.jpg Click to enlarge

26. Did Kate *accidentally* kill Kevin when she drugged him? I hope that she didn’t but remember that the Marshall made a snide remark about her getting more juice to drink and how *they might believe her story* when they were on the plane? Is Kevin the man that she loved but killed (not Tom)? Or is this just her *MO* before she runs (drugs them and then leaves them)? She does drug Jack to get him to sleep, drugs Jin, well technically Michael drank the water (for Sun) and helps Sawyer drink the water to take his medicine.
lost_kate_drinks.jpg Click to enlarge

27. With all the weird fertility stuff going on here I would bet money that Kate ends up pregnant by Sawyer. Ew, again with the stupid soap opera story lines! If this does happen, I hope the story line is twisted enough to fit the Lost ideology. For instance, we don’t know what the Others *did* to Kate before they brought her to the cage. They are fertility doctors…

28. Jack gives Kate an hour head start. Isn’t that what Kate asked her *dad* for when she went and saw him last season?

29. In the upcoming episodes it looks like we are going to find out what did happen to Desmond after the hatch blew. Should be interesting!

Live together, die …. together?

Wednesday, May 24th, 2006

Initial thoughts.  Those two hours were JAM PACKED and it needs another *looksie* for more thoughts.

1.  Charlie is having serious post-traumatic issues.  He doesn’t seem to understand what happened.  He seems surprised Locke and Co. aren’t back yet when Bernard asks where they are.  He seems confused when Claire mentions the “violet sky,”  He is just way to jovial to not be in shock.

2.  Michael is going to die.  Will he come back to help his friends first?  Who knows, but there is no way that they are just going to let him go that easily.  Maybe Walt will talk him into going back for the DAMN DOG and something will happen to Michael.  It would be cool if it was set up that Sawyer ends up being a foster parent for Walt.

3.  What was Desmond in prison for?  Seems he was set up by Penny’s dad.  Mr. Widmore sure doesn’t want his daughter with Desmond.  He goes so far to send him to this experimental island?

4.  How does Penny know about the island?  I loved the last scene, it was so X-Files-esque.

5.  I don’t think that Desmond, Locke and Eko are dead.  But I sure wish someone would go check out the hatch.  Especially after the Quarantine door came flying to camp.  Hello?

6.  Sayid will go and save Jack, Kate and Sawyer.  We could see Sayid back on the boat during the *incident* and I’m sure once he hears Hurley’s story he will find a way to save them.  Plus we are talking about the 3 main characters.  They have to be saved.  But it sure would be cool to see where The Others are going to take them.

7.  What was the look between Jack and Kate right at the end?  It seems they have something in mind but by the look on Sawyer’s face he was not part of the plan.

8.  Libby so set up Desmond.  She *HAD* to be put up to giving him that boat.  Did she have a deal similar to Michael - was she trying to get someone back and had to deal to help get all of the survivors on that island in order to get her loved one back?  Plus, she really looks crappy as a red head.

9.  I don’t believe that Desmond made the plane crash.  You are telling me that the magnetic force was so powerful that it pulled down a plane from the sky, but the cans of food on the beach only fell off of the shelves?  No way.  Yes, the instruments were probably messed up and yes, the people on the plane were meant for this island, but I don’t think that Desmond’s close call with the buttons was the cause.  I think that the pilot may have made errors because of the instrument malfunction, yes.  But there are too many connections not believe they are supposed to be there.  I think that the reason *The Others* wanted the list so badly was because they needed to know who survived the crash.

10.  Desmond knows about The Others, but how?  He refers to them as “The Hostiles.”  At some point he must have left the hatch and had some sort of encounter.  Desmond just has way too much story left to tell for him to be dead.

11.  What was up with the $42,000 reward from the boat race?  42 is one of the numbers.  Coincidence?

12.  The big bird that flies down towards Jack and co.  I had read last season during my research that the Black *Roc* is a mythological bird.  Connection?  Does it have a connection to the *monster*?

13.  The big foot on the beach.  Four toes?  Where *is* the rest of the statue?  Was it destroyed in the last *incident*?

14.  Desmond’s story is so disturbing and sad.  It’s one of those life stories that makes you look back and say, “What if…”  What if Desmond had read Penny’s letter back in prison?  Would there have been a happy ending to his love story or would he have ended up exactly in the situation he is in?

15.  We hear the whispers right before Sawyer & friends get poison darts.  We assume it’s these Others but could it have been the “good” Others warning them that the “bad” Others were coming?

16.  There is much more to discuss…. will continue since we have *all summer* to go over this one.  But I thought this had to be the best season finale I have ever seen….

17. Still to discuss: Kelvin, rip in his suit, volcanic rock, Rudinski (I think that was his name), fabric softner paint, stuck in a “snow globe,” Mr Widmore, Desmond in prison, more on Libby, answer to riddle, Charles Dickens, Sawyer’s comment about aliens, Sayid praying, Hanso commercial, the original incident, the Swan key, the new incident, the hole in Kelvin’s suit, the boats, the ferry, Fenry, ah, and I’m sure there is much more!

Hey Mikey, they don’t like it!

Hm, I’m thinking that the survivors aren’t going to forgive Mike so easily. Check this out:

Source: Lost-Media.com

Q. ”…release of another castmember on Lost”? Are you referring to another death?

A.  I’m referring to Harold Perrineau not being a series regular next season. Like I said, he might come back as a guest star (à la Walt this season), but he won’t be a regular castmember.

Three Minutes

1. Widmore bullets.

lost_bullets.jpg Click to enlarge

2. There can be no doubt that this was not Walt talking to Michael. Unless he was some sort of prodigy Boy Scout, how would he know that he was North? He tells Mike that he is being held by the rock with the big HOLE, but isn’t that a convenient landmark?

lost_computer_screen1.jpg lost_computer_screen.jpg lost_computer_screen2.jpg Click to enlarge

3. Why do the Others want these four specific survivors? They don’t seem to be *good* like the tailies that they took. The only theory that I have so far is that these four have seen things on the island that do not possibly belong there. Jack saw his dad. Kate and Sawyer saw the horse. Hurley saw Dave. Eko and Locke’s visions don’t count because they came to them in dreams. But I don’t know yet how the Others know that they have had these visions unless they have somehow induced them.

lost_mike_list.jpg Click to enlarge

4. What happened to Kate? She is so scruffy! Just because you’re stranded on an island with killer Others is no reason to leave the hatch without some lip gloss! Get it together girl!
lost_kate_season_2.jpg Earlier this season

lost_kate_dirty_clothes.jpg Now

5. Um Mike, you’re not going North. Plus, I thought compasses weren’t supposed to work on the island?
lost_mike_compass.jpg

6. Hell. For some reason a Squirrel Nut Zipper song comes to mind… *In the afterlife…* Oops, off on a tangent. Anyway, Mike asks Eko about hell which seems to spark a story that is remarkably meaningful considering the situation. Me thinks Mr. Eko knows human nature and has already figured out Mr. Mikey’s crime. Why else pick the story about the boy “protecting” his sister and as long has he was “sorry” he would not go to hell. It also is very Shakespearean “Out damn spot” when he is trying to clean the blood off the floor.

7. Michael puking. Is this from guilt or drug withdrawal or both? I still think this guy was drugged and that is the only way I can see the audience forgiving him for his crimes.

8. Immunizations. I wonder how this is going to play into next season? Charlie has injected himself to see how it would feel before Claire gives it to the baby. Was he injecting himself with a virus or immunizing himself?

lost_charlie_immunizations.jpg Click to enlarge

9. Kate must have amnesia. Zeke is standing talking to Mike right as Jack and co. walk up in the jungle. He tells Mike, “If you make a sound you’ll never see your boy again.” I watched this back and Kate is right there when he says this. Why hasn’t she said anything about this? She has to know they were talking to Michael.

10. “Caught in a net,” I like this new Sawyerism. However, I don’t think that Sawyer was buddying up to Jack or thinks that they are now BFF’s. I think that Mr. Sawyer knows that he has given up his edge by handing over the guns so he needs to be on the good side of the survivors if he plans on getting back his hold. I also think that he was so eager to hand over the guns now is because of his own guilt over Walt being kidnapped and Sawyer wants his own revenge. Plus he has some unfinished business with Mr. Friendly. Showdown at the OK… hatch?

11. Eko’s cross being drawn to the wall is a *nudge* to us to remember that magnetic wall. I hear that it’s going to be opened up this week so we can see what is back there. Any guesses? Probably not Jimmy Hoffa.

lost_eko_cross_magnetic.jpg Click to enlarge

12. Poor Charlie. Building this church gave him purpose, not to mention he was like a kid telling his girl that he had a new job, when he was talking to Claire. I wonder if Charlie will try and enlist some help to get it done. Bernard is probably not busy.

lost_charlie_church.jpg Click to enlarge

13. I have a theory about the rock with the big hole and about what the symbol on the Other’s hatch is. I think that this rock was put there as a symbol to any ships coming ashore to know where to dock on the island. It’s their lighthouse if you will. I think that the symbol on the hatch is a door. It is the entryway to the island. I would guess that if you opened the doors you would find a corridor that leads out to a dock where the seabilly’s boat is hidden. There is probably some sort of cutout in the rocks that makes the dock secluded and hidden from view. If they are keeping Walt in this area it would explain why he is wet when he appears around the island (this would be a damp area). If I’m wrong, then I would guess it leads underwater to a different hatch.

lost_mike_rock.jpg lost_door.jpg lost_door2.jpg Click to enlarge

14. Didn’t the Others camp seem a little too set up like a Hollywood movie set? No one seemed all that surprised to see Michael and their little camp was so quaint with their villagers milling about at their tents with their drying fish. Not to mention the guns and needles. I don’t think that this was a production error but just the Others going with their image (remember the spirit glue and fake beards)? All here to keep up the facade for the survivors.

15. I’m guessing in season 3 we are going to see Miss Klugh show up in a flashback. Didn’t she sound remarkably similar to the custody attorney when she questioned Michael on why he knew so little about Walt?

lost_mrs_klugh.jpg Click to enlarge

16. Scott called it right away when Sayid grabbed both of Michael’s hands. He was checking his pulse and his palms to see if Mike way lying. Sayid is good! But why wouldn’t Sawyer or Jack be suspicious of why Mike wouldn’t want the only “real” soldier to go into battle with them? Wouldn’t you want a trained soldier going with you for your kid instead of the overweight goofy guy? Is it just me here folks?
lost_handshake.jpg Click to enlarge

17. Even more than a Charlie - Claire reunion, I want to see a Charlie - Locke friendship back. Maybe they’ll build the church together. Locke seems to take inspiration from Charlie here as he just cuts off his cast and heads back to the hatch. Can’t wait to see Locke’s version of letting go! Plus, I think that the writers knew that they couldn’t keep the audience interested in a story line that required a button to be pushed every 108 minutes. They are killing Locke’s obsession and our imprisonment to this story line.

lost_charlie_look_atlocke.jpg Click to enlarge

18. The scene with Mike and Walt was weird. If Walt hadn’t hugged him I would have thought he was projecting himself again. But Walt did say that they were pretending however I don’t think that Mike is taking this into consideration. He is taking them at face value.

19. Boat. Will they find Desmond asleep on the boat? I thought originally that the Others might have sent a boat over as a *nudge, nudge, remember your mission* to Mike but then I remembered that Desmond had a sailboat and he has probably been working on it since he left the hatch. Guessing that he would like to get off of this rock and back to the world now that he knows it hasn’t blown up… or so he thinks! Will he take the boat next season and sail off with some of the survivors?

lost_sailboat.jpg Click to enlarge

20. lost_damn_dog.jpg Damn dog.

Libby’s backstory

Tuesday, May 16th, 2006

It’s official and has been said by the writers, we will find out why the plane crashed this season. So this Wednesday or next week we will have an answer. Of course, as any *true* Lost fan knows (I say with a smug look on my face) it will also lead to more questions. But that is what we love about this show, right folks!?

So I thought I better hop on the computer and put my theory out there. Now I can’t speculate the logistics of *how* the plane crashed, but I am sure that Libby had something to do with it.

Think about it, the writers have been kind enough to give us a good story before offing anyone. What about Libby? We know she was in Hurley’s backstory and we saw her briefly talking to Eko at the airport, but what else to we know about her? She gave us bits and pieces but could have been half-truths just like Goodwin was a Peace Corp worker (wasn’t that the irony of the season?). Libby never got an episode devoted to her past, coincidence?

lost libby in hospital1.jpg Click to enlarge

Here is what I’m thinking. Libby is 100% connected to the Others. Probably the bad Others. We WILL get a backstory on her but it will come through bits and pieces and be intertwined with the other character’s backstories. There won’t be one big epi devoted to her, but rather, we will learn of her past through her interaction and so-called chance meetings with the survivors. I think that back home as she was somehow responsible for making sure the survivors got on that plane. Maybe she was paid by Hanso, Widmore, or the illusive HIM, but at any rate, this was her purpose.

I can’t say why, but if you go to the upcoming episodes page, you can read how Libby will appear [back home] in the season finale. Totally goes with my theory. Yeah, she was in the asylum with Hurley, but we don’t know her role there yet. Remember she came up to Eko in the airport last week when he was talking to the *hypothermia* chick. She was probably panicking when she saw them talking because perhaps he would believe the resurrection story and not board the plane.

lost_libby_airport.jpg Click to enlarge

Man, Michael is s-c-r-e-w-e-d for shooting her! Deliverance will have nothing on what the Others will do to him.

lost_michael_shocked.jpg Click to enlarge

To add, I just found this:

“Damon Lindelof [reveals]: Libby’s got this mysterious backstory, of which we’ve only given you the tip of the iceberg. We know she’s spent some time in the mental institution with Hurley, and the idea of killing her before she had an opportunity to explain how she got there… we have a master plan for how we’re going to tell that story, but it’s all posthumous. You’ll start to learn Libby’s moves through flashbacks over the course of the next season. So we’re not done with Cynthia, but Libby is dead.” Source: The Ausiello Report

Do I need to break out the “I told ya so” dancing man?

?

Wednesday, May 10th, 2006

Wow, what a great episode!

1. Whoa, is Michael high or what? Remember how drugged and brainwashed Claire was? She was about a .04 to Michaels 2.5! I think that is why part of the preview next week is in black and white (his stoned memory) and we can see *someone* injecting Michael, similar to what we saw Ethan doing to Claire. This is also the only way “we” and the survivors will ever forgive him, too.

2. So how are The Others manipulating their dreams like this? Is it in the water? Is it in the trees thus in the smoke coming from the fire? Is it in the fruit or meat that they are eating? Somehow they are manipulating the survivors’ minds…

3. I think that Locke was originally brought to the plane (through a DREAM) to find the hatch but because of Boone’s *accident* the plan was put on hold. But his legs were also disabled the first time he came here leading me to believe he is not supposed to climb. Why?

4. OK, so Eko wakes up in the night, grabs the axe and tells Charlie, “I’m going to get John.” SCARY! They give him some great set ups, don’t they?

5. Eko is starting to sound like Locke did last season. He asks Locke if he has ever followed a dream. He tells Locke that they should wait for further instructions (once at the plane). His faith is now pulling Locke on.

6. Funny line - when Eko is looking at the map and he asks John if something is a river and he responds that no, it’s a wavy line. Tsk, tsk. Sarcasm.

7. Poor Hurley, he already thinks that he is cursed because of the numbers and now Libby is dead for what he thinks was his fault. Wonder who he’ll see now on the island? And will he ever figure out how he knows her? Her story never went anywhere.

8. Claire’s psychic. He’s a fraud, shocker, right? But, what I think is interesting is that he told Eko that he gathers info and then exploits people. I think that he was doing this to manipulate Eko. He conned Claire into getting on the plane so did he just con Eko the same way? He *pretends* that his daughter is a fake then sends her to the airport to talk to Eko? Is Eko’s monseniour somehow involved and that is why he sent him to investigate the miracle?

9. The ground was salted so nothing would grow around the question mark. Eko indicates that this is so that anyone flying above will see it. Makes me wonder what kind of other markers there may be around the other hatches. Why make these markers? Well, we are supposed to find out why the plane crashed to begin with so maybe we will find this out in the next couple of epis.

10. I couldn’t tell what was on the table in the observation hatch. It looked like a cigarette and trash, but my sis thought maybe it was heroin and empty packs.

11. Orientation video. The doctor uses a different name and sure does look younger. He was Marvin Candle for The Swan but now says that he is Dr. Mark Wickman. Video was dated 1980. Also, the Swan video was reel-to-reel and this one was VHS.

12. There was dust on the journals that the participants were supposed to write in, but the thingy that carriers them was still working. TV’s looked dated but still worked. Where is the power coming from? Where is the PALA FERRY that takes them back when their 8 hour shift is over?

13. Scott and I examined the numbers on the printout but could not see the pattern. Is it a date followed by some type of time stamp? The pattern consists of eight numbers beginning with 41602 then 3 numbers. They vary from 41, 05, 29 and 23. Is the first set the date?

14. I want to know what all the other tv’s in the new hatch were for? Could they need all of those just for the Swan OR could they be watching other places (the jungle?) or other hatches?

15. Here are the clips from Eko’s first dream”

– Eko’s POV from the water when he is washing ashore after the crash
– Black smoke Eko saw in the jungle
– Dead body floating in water
– Necklace on brother in Africa
– Feet of the Others (children) walking through jungle (with the teddy bear, remember?)
– Campfire
– Jin blindfolded
– Statues of Mary that the lady was selling in Africa
– Charlie and Eko watching the drug plane burn
– Eko’s brother talking to him in the church
– Dharma symbol in hatch (w/arrow)
– Bible from the crate in the other hatch
– Jesus stick
– Skeleton of brother from drug plane
– Locke looking scared
– Eko behind the black smoke
– Brother - Eko getting the cross necklace
– Plane taking off, brother yelling and then guards coming up in jeep
– Dr Candal from Orientation video
– Dharma Swan log in hatch
– This all followed by Eko coming into the hatch and finding his brother sitting at the computer telling him that the work being done there is important.

16. Eko’s fake passport was dated 14 April 04.

17. Sawyer was again showing a very soft side. He was willing to give up his stash that he worked so hard to con in order to keep Libby from suffering. Then he comforts Kate. Nice.

Two for the Road (2)

First thoughts:

1. Hm. Click here for the I told ya so dancing smiley face.gif(she says with arms crossed in defiance). I was scorned by fans last season for saying Boone was going to bite it and he did. Now Ana.

2. Did Libby die? We can see two graves in pix for upcoming episodes but she was holding something out in front of her when Mikey shot her that could potentially have saved her. Listen, I read today in a magazine about how an underwire in a bra stopped a bullet so stop your scoffing… BUT IF SHE LIVES this is going to be so freaking cool because she can rat out Michael. If she dies, Hurley and Sayid will have a new connection.

3. Michael, Michael, Michael. I said, that he was going to sell out his friends for his son. But again, I would send you all down the river for my daughter. However…. the killing part might stop me.

4. Henry was expecting Michael. How did he know? I don’t think that he knew who was coming as much as he knew someone would be coming. So the tradeoff is Ana has to die in retaliation for killing Goodwin. Then, Fenry (aka Fake Henry) gets freed in a “supposed” trade for Walt. So what is next in Mikey’s plan? Hey Mikey, he likes it!

5. Thought it interesting that they have Christian (Jack’s dad) and Ana meeting in a bar just like Ana met Jack — at the airport bar.

6. So Christian has a daughter in Australia. How did that happen?

7. The name Christian picks for Ana is SARAH??? So was he the person that Jack’s wife SARAH had made dinner for the night that she dumps him. I would say that we are going to be seeing more of this in the future.

8. I hope that the writers/producers know how much they make this show seem like purgatory. I KNOW THAT IT IS NOT, however, think about the implications. Every time someone finds their peace, they die. So if this was purgatory and you found your peace you pass on to heaven. I’m just saying.

9. First Michael tells Jack and friends that the Others are weak and only number 22 with two guards and two guns (Two for the road???). But then he goes on to tell Ana that they are “animals” and he has seen what they can do. Somewhere in the truth Michael either sat down and worked out this compromise (complete with killing) or they kidnapped him, only to torture him to the point of this horrible deal. No matter, he is leading the survivors to a slaughter for sure.

10. Eko falls off a cliff next week? Will anyone believe Locke since he has lied about cliffs (remember Boone’s accident?).

11. Fenry’s quote was great. To Locke, ” If you’ve come to apologize I forgive you for hitting me with your crutch. I’m so glad my head didn’t break it.” Now how many shows would you find that kind of dialog, huh?
lost_henry_locke.jpg

12. Ana told Fenry the funny thing about killers is tha tthey love to talk, yet he said nothing while she yammered on….

13. Did you see Sawyer hit the car with his hands that Christian and Ana were talking in? It was right before Christian goes into the bar and Ana decides to leave him.

14. Hurley mentions the hosptial and then again remembering why Libby looks familiar. The camera went to Libby like they knew that we were going to be wanting a reaction. But I didn’t see a reaction.

Michael…. what he is up to.

I wanted to add to my speculation

What if Michael has made a deal with the Others, but he has agreed to bring back, or trade, one of the survivors for his son.

Now, we know that it won’t ever happen because The Others want Walt for whatever reason.

But, I could easily see that The Others have convinced Michael that if he brings back baby Aaron then they will trade for Walt.  We know that in reality they want both children, but they have made this deal with Michael to trick him into bringing Aaron.

The writers say we will see a “very different Michael” that comes back so nothing will probably stop him.  Not even one of the survivors with a gun?  Who has a gun in their possession?  Remember who - the trek into the jungle to find Henry’s crash site? Could The Others have armed Michael knowing that the survivors have guns?

Thoughts?

Reckoning.

After watching with the thought in mind that THEY want us to see these *specific* clips, here is my list I call

(insert creepy echo) “Thoughts and Questions”

1. Arrow on the hatch door where the Tailies were staying. What does it mean? We know the medical hatch had a caduceus so what is this?

2. *Orientation* video indicated that they were to stay in the hatch for 540 days. Desmond says he has been there 3 years. What happened?

3. L-O-V-E-D the Locke quote after watching the film. “We’re gonna need to watch that again!” Yes we are!

4. Ana recounts the number of tailies that were taken by the Others. What happened to them? Why chose them and not any other survivors? Why take so many tailies and so few of the mid-section-ers?

5. I still think that Kate poisoned someone in her past. I saw her getting Sawyer to drink and it reminded me of my theory. We have seen alot of clues leading us to this (poison to Michael (meant for Jin), drugging Jack to get him to sleep, etc…).

6. LOVE the scene where Eko comes out of the woods with Sawyer over his back. “Where’s the doctor?” Classic TV.

7. OK so the guys from the raft come out of the woods and did you see how happy everyone was to see them? Wouldn’t you be like, holy crap, there goes our chance to get saved? I would.

8. Hurley told LIbby she looked familiar. Did he forget?

9. Eko’s stick with the bible references, what was up with that?

10. Mike on the computer. OK, so you’re stranded on an island and your kid has been taken by seabillies. The computer that is used solely for “saving the world” suddenly lights up with an instant chat and you don’t say anything to anyone?

11. Sawyer has really gotten beat up on this island. He gets stabbed by Sayid, punched by Hurley and shot TWICE by The Others. When will he get his revenge or when will we see the tough guy? He told Zeke that it wasn’t over… can’t WAIT for that confrontation!

12. When Sun asks Kate if she ever took a pregnancy test she answers yes. Tom? The Marshall?

13. What is all being built at this point? We are told that Eko is building a church but what was Charlie and Sayid building? And when did Charlie become Mr. Fixer Upper?

14. Henry is so freaking good at manipulation. I bet the actor playing him is just loving this part and I love watching him. Good job bad guy!

15. OK, I SWEAR that tonight I heard the word “Lockdown” come out of the speakers during the scene when the weird sounds are coming out before the doors go down. Me thinks the producers cleaned this up a bit for us.

16. The map. I think that in 20 years when there is a recap of the greatest TV moments, the scene where the map on the door lights up will be in that countdown. I can’t wait to look back and remember the moment and to also have all the knowledge of what the show is really about. In the meantime I’m enjoying the ride!

He’s baaaaack.

So what might we see happen now that Michael is back?
lostmichaelcomesback.jpg Let’s get ready to rumblllllllle!!!

1. Michael is telling the truth. The Others have very little to defend themselves with and they could take ‘em down.

2. Michael has made a deal with *the devil* and is going to sell out his new friends to get Walt back. Heck, I’d sell all of you down the river to get my kid back.

3. Michael missed Vincent. The end.

4. Michael knows that the Others are pretty kick a** but doesn’t care since he wants his kid back. He just forgets how powerful The Others are.

5. Maybe Michael met up with the nice Others. There could be more than one group on the island and he truly doesn’t know how powerful or not the bad Others are. Maybe the nice Others want to overtake the bad Others and they convince Michael that they aren’t so powerful so that his survivors friends will help if they think they have a chance.

5. In true Scooby Doo fashion, Michael is going to try to gain the trust back of the survivors, convince them that they should be *very scared* of the monster in the woods, only to be figured out. His rubber mask will be pulled off in the end only to reveal Alvar Hanso who will exclaim “And I would have gotten away with it, too, if it weren’t for you meddling island dwellers!”
