The Whole Truth … sort of

Tuesday, March 21st, 2006

Episode hasn’t aired yet so can’t say this is the WHOLE TRUTH… BUT since it’s become my new business to speculate, wanted to put a few things down on, err, cyber paper.

Check out this link.  It is a promo for Wed. that I had not seen yet.

Whole Truth Promo Clip

OK, so we see Jack tell (someone) that she must tell *him* the whole truth.  Who, Sun and Jin? What truth?  Is she pregnant?  We also see alot of Ana Lucia running on the beach (thinking David Hasselhoff, yikes!).  But I found it interesting that Sun is hiding something behind her back, playing keep away (was that Sawyer) and then Sawyer says that he is “intrigued.”

Then, I found another trailer for this week:

Whole Truth: Trailer #2

Jin comes to Sawyer for a pregnancy test.  Lots of interesting things also going on with Henry.

Check out this summary of Yunjin Kim’s (Sun)appearance on Jimmy Kimmel, then we’ll discuss:

From Yunjin Kim’s appearance on Jimmy Kimmel: Hurley will get into a fight with someone, and if Sun is pregnant, her baby’s paternity will be a question. They also showed a clip from Wednesday’s episode that involved Sun and Jin arguing over Sun working in her garden. Jin doesn’t want her to get taken again, and Sun tells Jin that she doesn’t need his protection, prompting him to tear up her garden and say, “Now you have no need to be out here.” (The possible return of old-school Jin?) Plus, a new promo aired that had Charlie saying “You murdered someone” (not sure to whom, but possibly Ana-Lucia).

lost whole truth 1.jpg So I’m wondering if these two find out in the flashbacks that Jin is sterile.  They could have pursued fertility, etc… so I’m thinking it is entirely possible that Sun was preggers before they landed on the island.  After two months lots of women do not show.

But, I want to remind you that back in Season One in Raised By Another, Thomas and Claire are arguing and he accuses her of getting pregnant on purpose, even though she was on the pill.  What I am saying is that maybe Claire and Sun are *supposed* to be pregnant.  Maybe somehow Hanso is delving into some type of fetal research by inseminating women with a fetus that has been genetically designed to be immune to the *sickness.*

OK, so if that is a little too X-Files for your taste, could she have been messing with another trying to get pregnant, knowing that she was leaving Jin anyway?

Old and New

Back to Charlie, but only a little because the upcoming epi’s seem to have a lot of potential.

1. Charlie appears to have been given the burden of “saving his family” since he was a boy. So we can expect him to do what it takes to save his island family, namely Aaron and Claire. We haven’t seen the last of his antics, either, I’m sure. But lets not forget the dreams. Seems Mr. Locke has been slipping some of his potion to Charlie to induce a magic carpet ride, much like he did to Boone. Thing is, Locke was not expecting how his salve, if you will, would work on an ex-junkie. But wasn’t Charlie so proud of himself when he is talking to Jack and he says that he didn’t do the drugs? Made me really feel sorry for him.

2. Locke is setting up Charlie. I went back and watched a couple of epi’s from Season One and Locke is all about giving Charlie “choices.” BTW, who made Locke the God of the island anyway? Now he tells Charlie that he has given up his right to choose? If so, then why does Locke keep the statues in plain sight in the vault? Some sort of trap? Maybe he’s keeping them as bait in case Charlie starts to get close to Claire again and Locke will think he can lure Charlie with them and prove something to Claire.

3. In Season One, epi White Rabbit, Charlie comes running up to Jack to tell him that there is a girl drowning. Charlie yells “I don’t swim. I don’t swim.” What is up with that? Is this part of his obsession with Aaron floating around in the water in Fire + Water? Remember folks, Moses was sent floating down the river and Aaron was Moses’ brother. Are the Lost people shoving the biblical references down our collective throat or what!?

4. HDTV sucks! OK, maybe it rocks, but ABC is screwing us my HDTV deficient friends! They are showing extra items to those with HDTV and it must stop! In F + W, the scene where Charlie sees Claire and his mom on the beach, listen carefully and you will hear a plane. Apparently, in HDTV you can see the drug plane fly by. This isn’t the first time either. In What Kate Did, when she goes to see her dad, Sayid is getting arrested on the tv in the back ground. Huh?

5. This week, 2 X 13 “The Long Con,” I am wondering why the Others want to take Sun and why now? She has been wandering in the woods for awhile. Is she pregnant? Remember they wanted Claire for her baby.

6. Vincent is the mole! He comes running out right before Sun is taken. He appears before Shannon runs off to chase Walt. He appears right before the mirage Walt appears. Coincidences? Bet we could get quite a list going of his appearances right before something strange happens. I think he appears in Season One right before Jack’s dad shows up and I think that Vincent is licking Jack’s face or looking at him in the pilot at the opening scene.

7. Rumors are that Sawyer is going to find a 16 year old girl in the woods who is another survivor and she has been hiding. Odd that she is 16, huh, just the age of “Alex.”

8. Damn blogger just erased the rest of my post when I previewed it! Argh! I will try to re-create.

9. Epi 2 X 14 “One of Them” - When Rousseau leads Sayid to a mysterious captive in the jungle, he becomes determined to find out if he is one of the “Others.” Meanwhile, Sawyer discovers Hurley’s potentially devastating breech of the survivors’ trust and blackmails him into helping track an elusive island creature that won’t leave Sawyer alone.

10. The actor who plays Hurley says we will find out why he’s not losing weight. Something to do with the breach of trust?

11. Epi 2 X 15 “Maternity Leave” Claire - centric

12. Epi 2 X 16 “Forever and Never Again” Jin/Sun-centric

13. One last thought. When Kate was taken by “The Others” why didn’t they question her about her experience with them? Is Jack too busy throwing his hissy fit over her following them to question her?

Lost what Kate did?

Saturday, December 3rd, 2005

1. What Kate Did? What did she do? She blew up her dad. No Wait! It’s her step dad. No Wait! It’s her dad again. Geesh. I’m still not convinced that we know if Wayne was her dad or the army guy or heck, mom was pretty crazy back in the 60’s, maybe Locke’s dad has a connection here (tee hee hee)
2. Anyway, if Kate’s “only” crime (I say that lightly) was that she blew up some drunk, crazy guy in a trailer, then why send out a US Marshall, no, multiple US Marshal’s for the girl? Wouldn’t the local cops be after her instead? Think about this logically. If some kid blew up their dad here in Ft. Fun would they call in the Feds or would they send the local police to find her? There could be many reasons for this and it either implies that Kate has done more than just this one crime OR Wayne was way more than just “some drunk.”
3. Flash Forward NEW THEORY! Reading online has sparked a new theory. What if the plane crash is something that happens in the future? Kind of like Claire seeing the psychic and being told her future. The flash backs are all actually happening right now! That means that the whole plane crash is a FLASH FORWARD! Look at the clothes that Kate wore. Very modern. Someone online went as far as to tell who the designer of Kate’s shirt and pants were and they are very modern.
4. Some random thoughts- Kate tells Sawyer/Wayne that she is not good. Goodwin told Ana Lucia that they chose who to take because they are good. Are the middies (original survivors) all not good and that is why they aren’t taken?
5. So flash back (haha) to the beginning of the episode. Hurley gives the big thumbs up to Jin for shagging his wife. We see Sun look over at Sayid and he is digging. BUT look at where Sayid is digging. I pointed this out last night to (my) Scott and we looked later when Kate is sitting by the graves and it is not the same spot. Plus, why oh why would you dig graves RIGHT NEXT to where people are bunking (and other things, wink wink)? So I wonder what he was digging there?
6. A Ghost In The Machine. Popular term for the soul in the body. There were references to ghosts in this epi (Kate asks Sayid if he believes in ghosts). But, I think that this goes hand and hand with the whole transference issue that was brought into play. You put the ghost in the machine, you transfer to that person. Here’s how it ties to Lost: Kate transferred Wayne into Sawyer. Wayne was the “ghost” in Sawyer. I do not believe that the horse represented Wayne. Kate looked at the horse much like Locke looks at the monster. I believe that we don’t know yet who or what the horse represents to her, but I would say its safety since the horse saved her from the Marshall (car accident). Sawyer transferred his guilt over his crime to the boar. Locke seems to be transferring his (whatever) to the monster (handicap, anger at his dad?). Jack cutting the wood. Jack saving Boone (we don’t know the why of that yet, maybe something with Sara?). Look at Charlie and Aaron. Is there something there?
7. I think that the computer chat and Michael also has something to do with this ghost in the machine. I’m not saying that Michael is seeing things, neither was Kate, Shannon or Sayid. But he is so desperate to find Walt that he is going to believe that Walt is there. I personally do not think that it is Walt typing. No way. Yes, the kid keeps making appearances, but I would imagine that the “others” that had Desmond in the hatch also had some type of video surveillance on him. The “others” know that Walt belongs to Michael so maybe they are messing with him. Mean? Yes, very. But they made the plane crash, stole the children all showing us that they are not very nice people!
8. Speaking of Michael …. I said to (my) Scott last night, “How does Michael know about computers?” This guy was supposed to be an artist. So, he knows about computers, blast doors, building rafts, etc… Is he going to be the McGuyver of the island?
9. Not talking to the outside on the computer. Remember when Desmond asked Locke “Are you him?” Then the joke about the snowman? I think that Desmond was chatting with someone and that is why he wondered if Locke was Him.
10. Video splice. These two pieces so don’t fit together. If you pull up screen shots from the two different tapes it becomes clear. Yes, the subject is the same but the dr. is not. His hair, lapel, tie and the lighting are different. These are very subtle differences, which leads me to believe that whoever shot this video had to go back and shoot it again and change that part. Who knows what the original video said. And who would splice all that stuff out anyway? Why was that part of the video in the hatch.
11. Next episode is Merged. This is where we are to see island flashbacks, before the survivors of 815 where there. I wonder who we will see there?
12. The Hunting Party. Interesting title. I found online that there is a 1971 western movie of the same title (this is real life we are talking about now- haha!). In the movie a man goes around killing out of revenge for his wife’s abduction. Interestingly, this epi. is Jack centric. Clue?
13. BTW, there is talk that there isn’t another new epi until January! Can this be true! I thought it was in two to three weeks!
14… 3 appearances of the horse, 23 seconds left when Locke gets in the hatch after Kate left. Pix of Sam Austen in Vietnam 4 mths before Kate was born. Kate was five when parents divorced. Kate is 24. Horse appeared 3 times. Numbers at 51 when “Walt” appears. 3 graves.
15. Rose. Remember in the 1st season when Rose hears the monster and she says it sounds familiar? Someone laughs and asks her where she is from and she says the Bronx? The subway maybe makes the same sound? UNDERGROUND!!?? Obviously the “others” are milling around underground.
16. The monster, the rain, the caves, the others, Them, Danielle, Desmond’s escape, the tower, the cord into the water, the shark, the others on the boat, gas, Jack’s dad, what is the monster protecting?, the black rock, soooo many more items that haven’t even been touched or have been forgotten, for now. Hopefully, we all won’t be watching this show in another season or so and be in for a huge disappointment when they put this all together. I think this all goes back to our imaginations, though. Just like the survivors think they are seeing a monster and it’s really just a machine, sometimes you think there is a monster in your closet that ends up just being a coat. Being deserted like that would probably make you pretty speculative.
17. I missed Sawyer on the island. I think that his dialog is just so funny! He cracked me up when he saw the horse. Too hilarious!

Lost in the Collision

Tuesday, November 29th, 2005

So my title’s aren’t always witty. Maybe never.

1. OK, so where did Locke get the crossword puzzles? Was he scavenging Sawyers “stuff?’ Would Desmond have such pop culture material lying around? Anyone slow down and scan any other questions on the page he was working on?
2. Locke was working on item #42. Something about Enkido’s friend. The answer was Gilgamesh. Did some research and turns out Gilgamesh was some mythological king and Enkido was sent by the “gods” in answer to Gil.’s people’s prayers to “tame” his arrogance. Gil. And Enk. End up friends but in the end Enk. Dies. There are some parallels being drawn to Lock and Eko but I’m not sure this isn’t just a red herring thrown in by our friends, the writers.
3. Ana’s mother was the captain of the police force. Another mother issue to go with our theme this season. Ana was a “to be” mother.
4. Numbers: 8 Adam 16 (Ana’s call number on her police car), 3 blocks to the crime. 4 bullets. Ana was shot 6 times. 4 left from the tail section.
5. My theory: Ana shoots Jason (revenge). She realizes that her cop days are done and resigns from the “force.” She takes on being a bounty hunter. This would make sense with her personality. Heck, she just came back from being shot and her baby killed and throws a tantrum when mommy doesn’t want her to jump right back on the street. So let’s say Ana gets a bounty on Kate. Makes sense she would follow her to Australia. Maybe she is so happy in the airport because she was a cohort of the marshal and ½ the reward for Kate is probably still good money.
6. Here’s an idea: What if the guy that Ana shoots (Jason) turns out to be the “wrong guy?” Maybe this will give her a connection to Sawyer (remember, he gets a false lead and shoots the wrong guy, too).
7. Did you notice that Ana was shot in “Echo Park?”
8. I think we are going to see this week that Kate’s crime is what I have been saying since last season – she killed her dad in a mercy killing, but with poison. Again, a clue when we see her with Sawyer and she knows how to get the dying man to take the pill. Those of you who I’ve chatted with weekly know that there are many examples to make us think Kate killed her dad (the only man she ever loved, per her words) but I think that she was misunderstood and “everyone” thinks that she just murdered him in cold blood. When we see the scene this week where Sawyer wakes up and grabs her it could be two things: 1) He is just hallucinating. Or 2) The reason Kate looks in the bottle is because she confessed her “crime.” Sawyer, being the funny guy he is, read all the notes. He knows Kate “killed” her dad and freaks (much like her mom did) when he wakes and finds her hovering over him. I could see her note: “ I killed my father out of mercy and love. Please understand…” or something like that.
8. Did you notice that Jason was wearing a red shirt when Ana shot him?
9. I wonder if we’ll see Ana’s back-story with her boyfriend Danny? I didn’t catch much, if anything, about him and wonder if there is a crossover there with our survivors.
10. Off subject: I just learned that the hotel owned by Sun’s father was called “The Swan.”
11. BYW, epi 2.11 is called “The Hunting Party.” I think that the two groups join here to hunt down Walt and the other children that were taken. This is supposed to be Jack-centric, which I have a hard time believing since we’ve got a lot of other characters yet to explore this season.
12. Ana’s partner (the actor) is also listed for this week’s epi, What Kate Did. Does he perhaps arrest her or we are surely going to see crossover!
13. Upcoming epi for Eko to be called “ The 23rd Psalm.” Better get reading! Supposed to reveal why Eko is so religious (duh!).
14. Is there more to the Jack/Ana Lucia relationship? My sis thinks there is a possibility that Jack and Ana could have been playing some sort of romantic “game” in pretending they didn’t know each other in the airport. Was the look at the end of last week disbelief? I don’t think so but there is “always” room for speculation and far-fetchedness (is that a word) in this show!
15. OK, I’m now reading that the writers are telling us we are also seeing some flash forwards. Wha … ??? So maybe some of them do escape the island, is that what they are telling us? Does this now cause me to go on Zoloft to slow down the enormity of the theories that I could create with this information? (lol) Ana did tell Sayid that they never caught Jason… maybe in her new training as a bounty hunter she tracked him down (FLASH FORWARD) and killed him.
16. I’m thinking that we are going to see that Eko was a priest. Perhaps his brother stole his garb and it was him up in the tree from the drug plane (remember, Locke and Boone stumble across the “priest” in the tree?).
