You have posted some great thoughts, but no one has mentioned Ethan. It seemed to me there a little tie in. Ethan seemed to befriend "Barbie and Ken" very quickly. This seemed a bit odd to me due to Ethan was always on the outside looking in. Also, why no mention until now about the walkie-talkie. Wouldn't Ben and Juliet noticed they had forgotten it and returned to get it? Aside from that, if the eyepatch guy was an other, why live outside the perimeter, unless they knew the survivors found the hatch and they wanted to draw them in? Why else do you name a guy "Paola" - what a hoot. here's the next part - and it's my speculation about what's going to happen, so if you don't want to even think about it....possible spoiler approaching. anywho - Sawyer throws the diamonds in the grave and wanders off. I'm not sure what to think of this episode. It was kind of fun in its own cute little standalone episode kind of way, but we really didn't gleam anything from it. I especially hated when Paulo saw Ben and Juliet in the Pearl station and Ben explains to Juliet he'll just do what he always does and exploit weakness. That was totally out of character for him to be that blunt and explain things so clearly like that. I felt like I was watching this seasons 24 for a minute there. As far as the gum goes, yes, it was under water but in a bag and in its little self contained packaging. I guess it could be feasible that it might last the month or so until Paulo starting chewing, but it is stretching it.
