First Season Good
Tonight Lost has found redemption. Too bad next week they are following it up with a Ken and Barbie flashback, *blech.*
Notice that there wasn’t any pix of them in the scenes from next week (at least, not in the promo here) and it’s THEIR flashback!

Wow tonights show was great. I especially enjoyed the acting battle between Lock and Ben. Awesome stuff.
But why are you so negative towards next week episode? Why don’t you just watch and judge it after? I’m guessing you will be pleasantly suprised.

Have you seen Ken & Barbie act in this show? On top of that, ABC just drops them in the show (a show, mind you, that fans like me screencap and watch every frame) and just expect us to accept them as survivors that have been there all along. It totally goes against the premise of this show (ie, the story development) and I am insulted that they have dumbed down as much of this show as they have.
I agree, however, that this week was excellent.

Yes I have seen them act, but I don’t believe that 5 or 10 lines really gives someone an opportunity to shine or showcase their talents. All I’m saying is cut them some slack and watch the next episode and THEN make a judgment on them. Also, maybe their is a good explanation for WHY you have not seen them yet this season. For example, what if Desmond turning the key change the course of events and instead of Bernard and Rose getting on the plane, Nikki and Paulo replaced them. Just a random thought…but it could definitely be possible.
Anyway, on a brighter note I love your site and your observations, I just respectfully disagree with you on this topic. Keep up the good work.

I admit I’m being unfair in my hatred of Ken & Barbi (hehe) just because they magically dropped in this season, but hey I’m human. I’m not perfect. From what I could tell from promo photos it looks like the flashback is of them during the crash. I was just pondering how they filmed that. I bet it would be a bitch to go back and re-create the set. Perhaps the ‘they’ working for the others is them?

Found some discussion regarding the sub you might find interesting.
Why the sub is not blown up:
1 – Locke knew the where the light switch was.
2 – He went directly to the bridge
3 – He was soaking head to toe when walking down the dock
4 – Subs can take an ENORMOUS amount of firepower on the exterior, 1 pack of C4 would not do it!
5 – As Locke is walking down the dock, you can see a slight surf (foam action) where the sub was. Which was at the end of the dock but anchored to the LEFT SIDE! the sub was not there. I gather Locke submersed the SUB down into the water and the placed the C4 pack to the end of the dock
6 – The explosion from two different shots (angles) show that it occurred dead center of the dock NOT to left side where the sub was
7 – When Locke was eating supper/Lunch when Peter the ladies boy showed up at his apartment, there is a frame of Military patches behind the couch. One that I can make out is this one found here. Guess what LOSTIES It is a NAVY patch.

wow maybe john just pressed submerge like ben said and the sub just sunk into the ocean, placed the C4 on the deck, and made it look like the sub blew up. he must have known that one C4 coudlnt have done the job so he fooled them. Great post guys!! cant wait for next week! i dont hate the newbies, i just have no respect for them. for one thing, Paulo is a major brat! and nikki is just trying to hard to take kates place as the hottie of the island. Sorry babe, it aint gonna happen! kate is waayy to sexy for u!

Don’t forget the “war games” that Locke was playing in Season One when Randy came up to him and chided him about it. Locke could for sure be an ex Navy man. Also, I looked at a screencap and Locke definitely had some metals on the wall behind him in last week’s epi. Great catch Nate!

Okay, but here’s the twist – last scene of the series is Locke standing on the end of the dock watching everyone leaving on the sub.
He saves the day, but is too afraid of leaving the island and becoming paralyzed again.
life is good.
oh, and PS – on the next to the last show the polar bear returns and eats Ken and Barbie. (just kidding, turns out that Ken is a former U-boat commander who has been stranded on the island since WWII – he drives the castaways home. Barbie it turns out is Amelia Earhart (the hotter version) – she solves the complex navagation problems – later this year she’ll change her name to Ginger or maybe Mary Anne – I’m suddenly so confused. Been that way since the hatch blew!!

hey Bruce – with all due respect (seriously) if you’re going to post a “spoiler,” (ie, “last scene of the series is Locke standing on the end of the dock watching everyone leaving on the sub”) it would be courteous to mention that at the beginning of your your post so we can choose to read on or not…
