They did themselves a disservice by making the pilot episode surround an airplane mystery. I’m sure there were many people out there like me who were thinking that this was just going to be a Lost Part Duex. However, the more reading about the show that I’ve done the more that I think that this is actually going to be a really good drama.
With a 10,000,000 budget for the pilot I’m expecting some amazing special effects and scenes. The pilot episode is about the investigation of the passengers of an international flight that landed at Boston’s Logan Airport where the passengers and crew have all died grisly deaths. In due course, those who are called to investigate discover that “what happened on Flight 627 is only a small piece of a larger, more shocking truth.”
For those of you wondering about the casting of Lance Reddick (Lost’s Matthew Abbadon) as a series regular on Fringe, J.J. said it’s a safe bet he’ll reappear on the Island. “When we were casting him, we hesitated because of his Lost character,” J.J. admitted. “But then I realized if he goes and does another show, he’ll be less likely to do Lost, so let’s get him on this one, because I know the producer.” SOURCE: Kristin
The show centers around Phillip Broyles, a special agent for Homeland Security who heads the special Fringe division, which is established to investigate a series of terrorist/paranormal events. I know this sounds remarkably X-Files-esque but I trust JJ Abrams not to make this just another rip off but something interesting that perhaps we can obsess about week after week.

I’m really excited for this show. I’m hoping to death that it’s not a disappointment, because wouldn’t it be nice if there was a show that could bridge the gap between Lost seasons?
Wooo! I hope it’s good.
