Images That Mean Nothing
If you were trying to figure out what the writers were telling us with the final images of the show, then think no more. For once there where images that meant nothing.
”The images shown during the end credits of the Lost finale, which included shots of Oceanic 815 on a deserted beach, were not part of the final story but were a visual aid to allow the viewer to decompress before heading into the news.”

And there’ll be the epilogue or whatever they call it

I think the only message I got (intended or not) from the closing images is that someone did survive the crash and/or continue to live on the island. Foot steps can be seen on the beach and personal items seem to be organized (like the pile of colored clothes in the screen-cap shown).
It was a great show… and will miss not seeing/learning more.
As for the ending… it was ok. It was a little “to convenient” of a way to wrap everything up quickly without needing to explain all of the mysteries.
I’m far from disappointed… but would have liked more info.
Namaste.

Thanks for these many pages, thoughts, and questions. Here in New Zealand we were always well behind the States with Lost, but between season’s i’d review your website for the many questions you had about the show.
Personally, i’m very disappointed that Mr Eko never made it back in any way, shape, or form. But that is the way of the show, with twists and turns that we may not alway have wanted…but possibly needed.
Thank you so much for making the Lost experience all the better.
Stu.
