Someone earlier posted the comment about the DaliLama. There's a scene in a movie called Kundun that is almost identical to the Locke scene that identifies his reincarnation. I don't believe that Richard and Locke are being reincarnated, probably more towards time travel. But who knows if this is an allusion by the writers? On another note, I'm pretty disappointed that the smoke monster drawing was so pointed out. In season 1 that would've been an easter egg! I guess they've lost faith in us!
