We obviously know that it's not the plane that crashed on the island. So if it was another plane, wouldn't a different unsolved plane crash (besides 815) be a big deal too? I mean they wouldn't be able to assume it was 815 without identifying it. Unless the crashed plane we saw underwater tonight was staged. But that would be really weird... I like Daniel too.
