As far as the break goes, I'm sure that the writers weren't very happy knowing what a huge break we had to get to the new epis, to have to take another break in the story. Wowzers those ones were good. I think the reason this one felt like kind of a ripoff was because it didn't answer any questions at all, really. We already knew Michael was the man on the boat, we didn't even KNOW there was a man on the boat until recently so it's not as big a deal as say, the smoke monster...uh, even the answers it gave (about the fake plane) were sketchy because they came from an unreliable source, tom. anyway, i agree that it's probably the freighties that be killin' alex's mom and bf, and we're supposed to believe that it's ben. although whatever, it could also be ben. also, i wanna see the TEMPLE HATCH!!! gimme some Dharma religious extremism out of left field... alex looked pretty hot in this episode btw. and yeah, i'm pretty sure that ben is actually the guy that staged the fake plane thing, not widmore. i think they're both bastards though. well the best episodes of the season so far have definitely been Sayid’s and Desmond’s. Personally I thought it was a brilliant move. First of all he pays Michael back for selling out Hurley, Jack, Saywer, and Kate at the end of season 2. Also, it could score him big points with the captain of the ship, maybe prove that he's trustworthy. If that's the case then this may be where Sayid becomes allies with Ben. If Sayid has won the trust of the captain, then he is of great value to Mr. Linus. I, for one, can not wait to see where they go with that storyline. Was it just me or was it really great to see "Mr. Friendly" again? That may be the one thing that I hold against Sawyer. Why'd you have to kill TOM?!! Now that we know that the island can control whether you live or die, doesn't that raise some more questions? Is patchy still alive because he still has "work to do"? What about Charlie? Did the island let him die? As much as I don't like the Michael character, I found myself feeling a little bad for the guy. Not only do you have to live with the fact that you sold out all those people on the island every day of your life, but now you don't even get to see your son anymore! Walt was the reason that he sold everybody out and now he doesn't even get to SEE him anymore. Then he finds out that he can't even take his own life. There is just no end. So he takes the job on the freighter and finally gets all his courage up to use the c-4 that Ben gave him. Here it is, he's going redeem himself. He is going to make it up to everybody on the island, he is going to show his son that he really is a good man, he is going to do the right thing damnit!! Then he gets...............a note? Good lord, you put yourself through all of that and all you get is a stinkin' note that says "Not Yet"? At this point, Michael was probably happy to see Sayid on the ship because he figures that Sayid will just kill him and get it over with. I don't know what I'm gonna do over the next few weeks waiting for the rest of the episodes to air, but I can't wait to see how they are going to finish off this season. Lest we forget the chopper is gone from the freighter and we saw foreshadowing of the "muscle" on the freighter shooting military grade weapons at clay pigeons. Just the way they were shot tells me the others didn't do it. For one there was not shot heard telling us that either it was from really far away, or it was a silenced weapon. The others haven't shown the ability to pull off either. More freighter people have made it on the island and are doing exactly what Ben has predicted.
