I did not look these up, I was lazy. Thank you for sharing this information, however.

1. Sounds like redemption. You are cleansed by death. They get to start a new life on the island. Everyone gets a fresh start here.

2. So was Eko put on the island to teach? Did he exchange the "whereabouts" of his brother for converting the survivors? Not to Christianity, but to the "Hanso Way?"

3. Could this just be Eko's reminder to himself that he must do penance for his brother's death?

Again, thank you for these verses. This is very interesting!

Did you look up any of the passages?
1. Colossions... was written by Paul in opposition of the false teaching or heresy. i.e Colossions 1:21-22 "Once you were alienated from God and were enemies in your mind because of your evil behavior. But now he has reconciled you by Christ's physical body through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish, and free from accusation."

2. Titus...was also written by Paul to a man named Titus, Titus was converted to Christianity by Paul. Paul left Titus on the island of Crete to continue teaching the word of Christ. He wrote him this letter as his "personal authorization and guidance in meeting opposition." -NIV study bible Zondervan

3. Revelations 3: 1e-2 "...I know your deeds; you have a reputation of being alive, but you are dead. Wake up! Strengthen what remains and is about to die, for I have found your deeds complete in the sight of God. "
verse 3h: But if you do not wake up, I will come like a thief and you will not know at what time I will come to you." verse 5: "He who overcomes will...be dressed in white." verse 10: "Since you have kept my command to endure patiently, I will also keep you from the hour of the trial that is going to come upon the whole world to test those who live on the earth." verse 11: " I am coming soon..." verses 15-18 "I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because your are lukewarm- neither hot nor cold- I am about to spit you out of my mouth. You say, 'I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.' but you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, blind and naked. I counsel you to buy from me gold refined in the fire so you can become rich; and white clothes to wear..." verse 21: "To him who overcomes, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I overcame and sat down with my Father on his throne."
