Jughead

In lieau of another hint for the season 5 premiere today, how about we switch things up? Because ABC has made the third episode of this season available to critics, and it’s even better than the first two.

Well, maybe not better, but for all you Lost fans obsessed with finding out what’s happening, it will shed some major, major light on a ton of questions you’ve had. The sad thing about Lost is that no review can adequately explain why an episode is great because I want to avoid spoiling the major surprises.

What can I say about episode 3, “Jughead”? Well, you will learn more about one specific character than you ever thought you would. There’s a revelation I never saw coming mostly because I didn’t think the writers would actually do it this soon.

Also, the name “Jacob” is mentioned. In many ways, this episode is the yin to the yang of “Cabin Fever.”

The third episode of season 5 is also strange for another reason. Jack, Kate, Sun, Hurley and Sayid do not appear in the episode at all. But there is someone by the name of Charlie.

OK, so my heart skipped a beat when I read “Charlie” but I think it’s Des and Penny’s baby’s name. Penny is in labor during the preview, that is why I guess him.

Then, what’s with the name?  A Jughead can be a stupid person. Also, JUGHEAD is an acronym for some type of search engine.  The description was way over my head so here is a link.

What about Jughead from Archie comics? I read that they were always trying to guess his name?

  2. Dane Says:

i read everything you wrote about the first two episodes and it’s all great. i think locke is straight up dead though, but maybe not once he gets back to the island. anyway, can’t wait for tonight’s ep!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  3. GaryG Says:

If you remember from season 4, the O6 were talking about how Locke died and how it was made to look like a suicide. But it may have acutally been a suicide. Richard told Locke he would have to die to get the O6 back on the island. I’m also wondering if Abaddon is going to collect on the favor Locke owes him for telling him at the hospital after the fall and he was in the wheel chair to go on a walk-about in Australia. Also, if Locke and the other Losties are shifting through time, is Cindy (the stewardist, the kids and the other Tailies who were captured by the Others also shifting? The Others didn’t shift with Locke, so why is Juliet shifting?

  4. Gitsie Girl Says:

In one of the comments, someone mentioned that the island needs a constant. I love that idea. Locke and the island are constants?

Juliet was exposed to the blast along with the Losties, that is why she can travel and the Others do not.

  5. GaryG Says:

Mr. Widmore used to be an Other! Wow! Cool! Was he kicked off by Richard for some reason…or…was Mr. Widmore the last person who turned the donkey wheel? I wonder if Mr. Widmore was being groomed as the leader, he did tell Ben the ilsand “belonged” to him long before it was Ben’s. Maybe the leader of the Others is the only one who can turn the wheel. I think what’s happening on the island has given Ben a loophole in which to return to the island. He did say to Locke, whoever moves the island can never return – but then we also know Ben’s a big fat liar half the time.

Dan’s mother is in L.A. Mrs. Hawkin is in L.A. too. I don’t think it’s going to be a big surprise that she’s Dan’s mother. Dan did experiments in time and She’s the Others’ time cop.

The girl who was holding a gun on Dan… is that also Mrs. Hawkin when she was young? Dan said she looks like someone he knows. Could Dan be her son… and Mr. Widmore’s? Mr. Widmore has been supporting Dan’s research for a very long time, something a father might do.

Still processing it all in my head.

  6. GaryG Says:

Oh, another reason to think that that girl with the gun on Dan might be his mother is the reaction he had when she asked if she reminded him of another girlfriend…

  7. Smith Says:

Yes, she is his mother (Mrs. Hawkins) because in the little thing at the bottom of the last episode it said she was named “Eloise Hawkins”. Thus, Ellie, and the name for Daniel’s rat. Boom! Mystery solved.

  8. Smith Says:

And as for GaryG’s “Widmore is the original leader” theory, I have to agree wholeheartedly. Wow! This show is really coming together for once!

I came across this while reading about Jughead… isn’t the internet a wonderful place!

Jughead’s Time Police was a series that began in 1990 featuring Jughead as a hero of the 29th century and a member of the Time Police, an organization that ensures history to remain the same for the future’s sake. In this series, the beanie gives Jughead the ability to time travel by thinking. With his supervisor, Marshal January McAndrews, Jughead repairs disturbances in the past.
