Comic Con Panel Part One
I just watched this and my two initial questions are:
1. Who haven’t we seen since Season One? (besides Boone)
2. Season Six like Season One (I suspect a “Dark Tower”-like ending)

I’m sure you already know this GG, but from what I know, King loves Lost and he’s going to have J.J. Abrams produce and direct the Dark Tower series. Carlton Cuse, Damon Lindelof and J.J. purchased the movie rights to Dark Tower for a wopping $19. Yes, nineteen bucks – that’s how much King wants this team to do the movie. Frank Darabont, the dude who did The Green Mile wanted to produce it, but King turned him down, the guy also did Shawshank Redemption – and those movies were big hits. As you know, the number 19 reoccurs again and again in the Dark Tower books, so the price is a bit funny. Also, some books and other things mentioned in the Dark Tower series appeared in Lost, like Watership Down, the first book we see Sawyer reading, Alice in Wonderland (how many white rabbits and Looking Glass stations do we have to see to notice the infuence of Lewis Carrol – not to mention Charlotte’s full name), Carrie and Star Wars. Anyhow, it’s probably going to be some awesome set of movies.

Thanks for the heads up. Yes, I had read this. I love King and (obviously) I love Lost so hopefully the movies will turn out well (fingers crossed). I found it especially amusing that he sold them for $19 considering the significance of the number in the series. I’m astonished at how many crossover themes there are btw the Dark Tower series and Lost. I am expecting to see a similar ending to Lost as there was in the series as well, but I guess time will tell (pun intended). – GG

Yes, I think this is going to be great too. Sorry about one mistake – Charlotte is actually named after C.S. Lewis (Charlotte Staples Lewis) and not Lewis Carrol. C.S. Lewis’ influence shows in the DHARMA station The Lamp Post. But ya, when you consider how numbers re-occur in the Dark Tower and numbers reappear in Lost – there is a big connection there. The new show next season (Flash Forward), I think it has a lot to do with Lost as well, at least I hope so. I’ve noticed many of the shows on that channel have a lot of Lost infuence – like I’ve seen the number 42 used on different shows and then you see DHARMA ads and other such crazy things. But OMG – King could have gotten MILLIONS for the sale of the rights to these books. The Harry Potter movies made that author a multi-millionare (more than the books). I am so absolutely glad that he (King) is more interested in art than money. So many people these days aren’t. When you consider that there are billionaires in the world who could solve world poverty and hunger with a very small fraction of their money. Bill Gates could give a million dollars to every single living person in the world and still be a multi-billionaire and he’s no longer the richest person in the world. Heck, he could give a billion dollars to everyone in the world and still be a billionaire if he wanted. The Wal-Mart sons actually have the most money (familiy wise). I think a major problem in the world is the way wealth is distributed. I mean, you know how poorly Wal-Mart employees are treated and they’re the ones who really made those two (brats) rich. They wouldn’t be where they were now if it weren’t for their father. So I think what King did for the purpose of art is so wonderful.
