I’m tired of people scoffing at my Lost obsession.  To add insult to injury, it’s usually sports fans that chuckle when they ask what is on my calendar at work or hear me talking to someone about Lost.  Let’s compare a Lost fan to a sports fan:

Lost fans don’t tailgate before a new episode.  Although it is worth celebrating, you wouldn’t be able to keep up, comprehend or talk any sense if you had done what this guy is doing.

Lost fans don’t paint their faces.  I don’t even know what colors we would use.

I can’t swear to this but I don’t think that any Lost fan has ever shaved anything on their back related to the show.  You’d need a lot of hair to get the numbers there but the guy above might be able to swing it.

Lost fans don’t run around naked in support of the show.

Lost fans don’t devote entire parts of their body permanently to the show.  A small tattoo perhaps, but nothing like this guy.

Now sports fans will argue that athletes devote years of their lives training until they are a finely tuned machine.  But think about it.  You don’t just *become* a good writer, actor, editor, etc…  This takes training and practice.  Is Damon not the Beckham of writing? 

So the next time someone rolls their eyes at *your* Lost obsession, just remember these things.
