More On *That* Article
I thought I had a pretty good screencap (see below) but there are other’s that are much clearer. The speculation is that someone named *John Latham* or *Jeremy Bentham* - ironically, another famous philosopher- is the name of the deceased in this article. These are both names of characters that we haven’t met yet. Click on the names for links to Wikipedia and some very interesting information that could lead to even more interesting theories.
Thanks to Daniel for leaving this in the comment section. This is *supposed* to be the full transcript. It is too good not to post here:
The body of John Lantham of New York was found shortly after 4 am in the 4300 block of Grand Avenue. Ted Worden, a doorman at the Tower Lofts complex, heard loud noises coming from the victim’s loft. Concerned for tenants’ safety, he entered the loft and found the body hanging from a beam in the living room. According to Jaime Ortiz, a police spokesman, the incident was deemed a suicide after medical tests. Latham is survived by one teenaged son. Memorial services will be held at the Hoffs-Drawlar Funeral Home tomorrow evening. (thanks to the tailsection)

Hi Gitsie,
I just watched a re-run of Roadhouse with Patrick Swayze. John Locke’s dad was the bar owner. A good guy:) I get way too excited when I see Lost actors in past roles!

I understand that. I just watched an old X-Files (I think it’s titled “Aubrey”) and Locke is the cop. He has dark hair and looks like the John Locke from around the time he gave his kidney up.

Hey, could the name in the article be an alias that Michael used when he and Walt returned to the mainland for whatever reason? Maybe the teenage son was Walt…
June 10th, 2007 at 5:41 am
I hadn’t thought of that.
But reading those wikipedia articles, neither of those seem like the Michael i know. And most namesakes are true personalitywise in LOST, but this is a cool point.
I think this is a character we are yet to meet.

Jack does say he’s sick of lying… about what? I was thinking that Kate maybe had to take on a new identity, why not Michael? But ultimately I was thinking that this is a new character that we haven’t met.

Maybe Jack lied to the outside world about the island and what has gone on. The losties have killed people.

“why not Michael?”
Because Most characters are faithful to their namesakes.

Under Jeremy Benthams’ influences, it lists John Locke?(philosopher) That could be a new storyline for Michael if he returns to the island.

Remember that Michael and Locke have had A LOT of tension because of Walt. When Walt comes back I could see Locke wanting to take him under his wing (thinking Boone) and Michael won’t be very fond of that idea….
June 14th, 2007 at 9:20 am
You think Locke will stay with the rest of them? Also, how do you think Michael and Walt will get back? Or did they ever leave?
June 14th, 2007 at 8:08 pm
No, I’ve read that the writers have set this up to be Locke vs. Jack (black vs. white, good vs. evil, faith vs. science, etc…).
Not that much time has passed on the island so Michael and Walt have just been floating, thinking they were getting somewhere but actually getting no where. They are supposed to be back next season. That is if the guy who portrays Michael will do it. He turned down the chance to appear in the season 3 finale. (Yeah, like he’s got so much going on, right?).

(Only other time i’ve seen him was in that camp modern romeo and juliet remake)
Yeah, maybe they’ll just do what Desmond did, and end up coming back to the island. Damn, i wanted Locke to fight the monster.
