Better late than … reruns!

Season Three of Lost is set to start of October 4, 2006. It sucks that the season seems to be starting so late, but considering the fact that there will be absolutely no reruns to interrupt the momentum of the show, I’ll take it!

I still continue to read conflicting stories of the exact number of episodes that each 1/2 of Lost will be broken in to, but for all intents and purposes, they will run a shorter number in the Fall/Winter and then a longer stretch from Spring to the season end. This also allows for double story arcs, which I for one am very excited about.

The latest report that I saw has Lost running 7 episodes then picking back up in January or February with 18 episodes.

First of all, WHAT did I do before finding GitsieGirl? Oh yeah, that’s right, I spent the first season believing that I “understood” what was going on during “Lost”…silly girl!! (THANK YOU, GitsieGirl!) Question: what are “double story arcs”?

Wow, thanks for the props! A double story arc will go like this: next season will air in two parts, one starting in September/October in which there will be a “mini season” if you will. During this stretch there will be a beginning, middle and cliffhanger. Then there will be a hiatus of the show. The season will pick back up in January or so and will run all the way until the regualr season end. During this time we will again get a beginning, middle and end. Therefore, a double story arc.

Again, this is their answer to avoid re-runs. We won’t have to worry about the momentum building to be followed by weeks of re-runs then a new episode sprinkled in here and there and then the season finale. I am excited about this idea.
