I think it is risky to try and translate the symbols as our search for a "guide," so to speak, has shown us that there are many, many different versions of the hieroglyphics. As Scott said, you can also derive different meanings depending on what symbols you couple. That is why I was trying to find alternatives to a straight translation. Maybe we will eventually crack the code when the rest of the Orientation film is found... But the site you found is awesome. Thanks for sharing!

Hmm... good catch. I found another place searching google images for "glyph" where it looked like it could mean "king" also. Plus I noticed on some translation pages that symbols paired with other symbols can mean totally different things. Whew. I didn't know watching LOST was going to turn me into an archaeologist. Seems pretty out there that the producers would incorporate hieroglyphics into the show. I think they are definately symbols for something, but I wonder how deep into "translation" and "egyption" we really need to go. Hope it's not season 4 before we find out!

I immediately thought of hieroglyphs when I saw them. I looked online and couldn't find meanings for most of the symbols, but it is possible that this one means "Carry or lift". Check out this link and see what you think...
