NOOO! Eko, say it isn’t so!
All right people. We have put up with Sawyer getting beat up weekly. We had to stomach Barbie and Ken appearing out of no where. Tonight, we had to try and believe that all of a sudden Locke and Sayid (a TRAINED SOLDIER) are going to let them tag along on their journey. BUT, TO KILL EKO AND KEEP KEN AND BARBIE? THERE HAS TO BE A LINE!
What was up with all the cheesy diaglog? “Oh Barbie, why would you go on a dangerous mission when you have so many fashionable things to do here at camp?” “What, are you a wuss Ken? You want them to include us but have just been invisible for so long why not take the chance?” “You’re right, Barbie! But first, let’s dance!”
Why oh why kill such a cool character with so much potential for backstory and mystery and keep the plastic characters with perfect hair and white teeth?
Ugh, thoughtful and long blog to come but need to seeth over this episode for the night. Lots of good things happened (hello, can anybody say Mr. Locke’s Special Wacky Paste? And field of poppies again?) but I just need a moment to look back and remember why I *used* to love this show and at the end wanted more next week, not at the end wanted to see people DIE next week!

why did they kill eko… why bad ass shows like this turn sour? what happened? they do most of the show focused on him then off him! what>>> they was doing him a favor or something i know ken and barbie could’ve been killed by the polar bear!

I sobbed when Mr. Eko died. I adored him. He was the only Tailie that I became emotionally invested in. Stupid LOST and it’s introduction of pointless newbies, while it goes and kills off people we actually love.

I had a bad feeling that it was Eko when he was on the official podcast about a week ago. Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse weren’t doing the podcast because they were filming, but apparently Eko wasn’t filming since he was on the podcast.
I’m wondering what it means - The Smoke Monster could look just like Eko’s brother, Yemi. Could the smoke monster look like someone else?

Okay LOST…I am officially pissed off!!! I cannot believe you all killed off Mr. Eko. What is the point of killing him off, when his life has been spared so often? Why not kill him off when the black smoke first apporached him? Or when the polar bear had him? It would have made more since to kill Eko off then, rather than to kill him the following week, especially after Lock declaired he had to save Eko and did. I love this show so much. I trust that there is a reason for all of this nonsense….And what’s up with the “Fall Season Finally?” Are we not going to see a new episode for six weeks because of the new show due to air? Most concerned…Scorpio.

Writers::
1. What is the point of having Locke save echo only to kill him off in the next episode?
2. Intro of these new characters is very weak. You need to make us care about them quickly or it will weaken the show.

1. OK - I am still in shock over Eko’s death. What is up with that?
2. Season Finalle next week - GG, did you know about this? Seems like the season just started.
3. The dialog is so forced where Barbie and Ken are concerned and why is it that Barbie figured out the TV screens and Locke didn’t? He saw Jack in the Hatch a few epi’s back and he watched the video. Heck, I knew what the other TV’s were for!
4. Are the OTHERS still messing with Jack’s mind? Is Juliet in on it? That video tape scene just seemed fishy to me. Should he trust her or not?
5. Next weeks episode looks pretty good.
6. So, could Eye Patch see them too?

He got killed because the actor didn’t want to stick around the show that long. It was Adewale’s decision; plus he was having problems with the writing and direction, and wanted out of his contract.

I quit! I am now officially in ‘Lost -rehab’! I’ve stuck by back-to-back crappy episodes with senseless beatings and ‘do you love him’ General Hospital crap! I even stayed tuned through the Scooby Doo acting of “Ken and Barbie”… but killing Ecko??? They didn’t just kill Ecko… they killed a really great show!!! This addiction must end and now seems like the best time to get on the wagon! I’m surfing for a new fix… TTFN

Hey, Kris — the show’s going on hiatus until February, then coming back with another 18 or so new episodes till the end of the regular season. It was someone’s bright idea to do this as a way to be able to air all new shows with no reruns, but I think it’s going to do more damage to the ratings than the reruns ever did.

I am so disgusted with these new characters. I thought the show was so genius, but this really makes me like it less.
The fact that they killed Eko was bad enough, but to have those guys around as it happened as a way of including them was so shameless. It’s so obvious which kind of people they added them for. I mean, none of the regular viewers will like them. Hopefully they will kill them soon, I don’t wanna see their flashbacks or anything. I am afraid though they they might just be replacements for other people that will get killed.
I just want Shannon and Eko back and get rid of these new people instead.
Everyone from the back of the plane is now dead.. except for Bernard who hasn’t been in any episodes in ages anyways. It looks to me like they knew they would have to kill people, but they didn’t want it to be the very main guys, so they added new people they could kill. That’s what they might be doing with the new ones. The problem is just that everyone got so attached to Eko. And I really believe that Eko and Shannon were both people that should not have died and that they could have done a lot of interesting stuff with both characters.
Whatever man, this seriously sucks.
