I figured with the wide face it was the bear, but yep... it could also be a dog.

I emailed my 'rendering' to info@gitsiegirl.com, but haven't seen a reply/posting for it yet.

william - #27 - that would make more sense but I just can't make out a polar bear. Seems like the head and front legs would be closer and more visible together. Still - as weird as it seems - looks like a big shaggy dog sitting upright on it's haunches. Will have to look closer later...

Props guys either have a really fun job on LOST or a really HARD job... gotta say that.

OK, I have to go back and read all the comments, but... how can Annie be Kate? Annie and Ben were the same age (give or take a few years), whereas Ben is old enough to be Kate's father! He's almost 53 in real life, and EL is almost 28; even if you stretch things a bit in either direction for the sake of artistic license (in terms of the characters' ages), there's no way the age discrepancy can be reconciled.

Gnid Gnid, *VERY* interesting stuff!

Maybe there aren't 10 tribes, but the remaining Dharma may have split off into tribes around the island.

I keep wanting to think that Jacob and Ben are brothers, but I'm not making the mental connection yet based on what we know. But I would say that Jacob is in exile and Ben put him there. Enemies? Definitely.

Ok...I'm late with my comments but, better late than never- right?
Allow me to put some Bibilical take on Jacob: Jacob is considered a 'son of god'. He is the younger of TWINS (being born second) who was said (if I remember correctly) were very different in appearance and behavior. Jacob was seperated from his father when he was young ('daddy issues'). Jacob's brother chose exile from the family and drank some RED soup to signify his agreement to seperate (cerimony conducted by Jacob -BTW). His brother was an enemy of Jacobs for years to come. Jacob plays a major part in Genesis but important to note is that he married Rachel (who's father he worked for - hello Jin and Desmond- man does everybody connect with the Jacob refrence). Rachel miscarries for most of their marriage (but Jacob has 'other wives' who have babies) (like the women on the island)but eventually gives birth to two sons Joseph and then... her second son = BEN!!! (I'm not making this up - I promise). Different translations vary but the 'jest' is that she died giving birth to Ben. Later, when the sons sold Joseph into slavery, Joseph had visions/dreams predicting the future (hello Desmond)... which land him a job with the pharoh. Later, his 11 brothers come to the Pharoh for food and Joseph plants a cup in Ben's bag that lands him in prison for stealing from the Pharoah.
[sorry this is long] eventually, the 10 remining brothers go out to 'populate' and are referred to as the "10 Lost Tribes".
So... what do you think???
Forgive my mis-translations from the Bible - I'm doin' the best I can from the ole' memory bank
